  It was the bloody Poms that did the damage to our Aboriginies. We Australians are just the result of a huge melting pot of immigrants from all over the world since. Don't blame us for Pommie ignorance. in the first place.

  Another few blokes got stabbed this week at our famous Bondi beach by men of "middle eastern appearance". These boys love to come in gangs and insist on a riotous soccer game amongst the sunbathers. They are disgusting in their behaviour towards Australian females and if anyone dares disagree they will be back soon with a bunch of mates with weapons.

  after reading the tragedy of puternut, i was thinking that perhaps it's time that the government took another look at what can happen when they allow religions like the jws, to cut off family members without a second thought.

  surely someone's rights to have normal religions with their family should come before freedom of religion.

  isn't it ironic that the gb fought so hard in court to obtain freedom of religion, yet their own members commit suicide when they try to express this very right.

  Very good point Mary...In fact I know of an instance where a high up JW had a close family member's baptism annulled because the JW argued that that person didn't understand the baptism vows. This allowed the JW to talk to that person again. Boy, the strings you can pull if you are high up.

  But back to your point... They enforce contracts made by minors.

  In Queensland, Australia, the law says that if you make a purchase from an unsolicited sales call you have a ten day "cooling off "period in which you may cancel the sale. No penalties.

  The salesperson must give you a form for you to sign at the time of purchase advising you of this ten day "cooling off" period. A copy is kept by both parties.

  I recommend that all JW baptismal candidates be given a ten year "cooling off" period.

  australia has a severe shortage of skilled workers and is targeting brits - very successfully.. last year nearly 100,000 brits moved here.. the australian 4 feb... "the big lure wasn't economic..it was a new lifestyle and better opportunities for the kids.

  and the big sweetener was the exchange rate.

  prospective workers owned homes worth about (pounds)160,000 to 190,000, or about $450,000.

  Doofdaddy....Recently talked to a young bloke who has been tomato picking around Bundaberg. Some of the lady back-packers preferred to do the work top-less but were told that due to Workplace Health & Safety regulations they had to wear a shirt.

  Yes, dear Mum (88) is doing fine. Home for a fortnight now after a month in the burns ward (A mix-up with the taps in the shower). Never complains, always happy. I think I will make a sea food mornay for dinner tonight. No...a sea food pie. Just put the mornay in a bowl with a filo pastry on the top.

  The Better Days...

  my mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread mayo on the same cuting board with the same knife and no bleach, but we didn't get food poisoning.

  my mom used to defrost hamburger on the counter and i used to eat a bite raw sometimes, too.

  our school sandwiches were wrapped in wax paper, in a brown paper bag, not in ice pack coolers, but i can't remember anybody getting e.coli.. almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool ( talk about boring ), no beach closures then.. the term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school pa. system.
