i am depressed.

really, really bad.

its not like anything has happened, just the last few days, i am feeling terrible.

Vivamus, so sorry to hear that you're depressed. I know no amount of friends and well wishers can make up for a mother. The org really sucks in this aspect, but I'm sure everone here will be here for you to help you get through this.

Disfellowship article-Make them squirm

the august km disfellowshipping article will be discussed the weeks of aug 19 & 26. i'm thinking of explaining the shunning policy to a reporter or some friends.

they could go to the meeting that night and explain before the meeting that they are interested in listening and learning what jw's believe and see how they treat others.

would it make the elders squirm when the article is discussed?

The problem with involving the media etc.. is that the witnesses are such an insignifigant religion in the grand scheme of things. Even though they played a major part in most of our lives the rest of everyone else kindof doesn't care.

Its my personal philosophy that the whole purpose of life is to make this journey. Not a literal journey, but a journey of discovery. All my life I have pondered on they why's and hows and I still don't know the answer, but I know a hell of a lot more than I used to!

Just don't get too wrapped up in the routine of daily life, enjoy your gift of life. For all we know, we only get a few decades on this earth and then its over. Try to keep things in that perspective and act accordingly.

goal setting can be very good in that it gives direction, purpose and accomplishment in a person's life.

i read on another post that something new was started at the last elder's meeting about "turning in time" or "getting time in".anybody know what it is?

Yeah, I think also that they are now allowed to turn it in in 15 minute increments as well.

Goals are good in the context that Thirdson talks about. If you are going to operate a succesful business, or even if you have projects at your job then goal setiing is extremely important, especially when accompanied by a Gantt chart ;)

Its hard to let go of your whole world view, especially when you have invested so much time, energy and life into it. Imagine someone who has been a witness for several decades, do you want to acknowledge that you've wasted most of your life?
