have you ever wondered what guidelines the wts uses to write its publications?
shortly i will be releasing another closely related memo titled "writing for our journals".
This reminds of one bethelite who would write articles and tried to get them published. He said he was sure he had one published but could not confirm because they always change the article around so that you can't claim it was yours. Well that sucks.

by the way: Bethel Elders have absolutely NO AUTHORITY in congregations besides the one they locally serve as an Elder, not as a Bethel Elder. Daniel P summed it up pretty nicely.

If not what happens about those in the hall that they think need to be reproved or spoken to?
What does it actually mean for the congregation?
Who will be in charge and what will take the place of the elder arrangement if its gone?
Bethel Elders are a separate entity that only exists in Bethel Homes/Branches (ex: Brooklyn, Patterson, Wallkill, Mexico, Canada, etc). As was stated, their is not scriptural proof for their existance unlike congregation elders.
Congregation Elders stay as is ... for the moment :-)

What I think (as if anyone really cares) as to why this went down.
Becoming a Bethel Elder is a goal that most if not all brothers had in Bethel. MANY got upset because so and so got appointed and not them.
So GB said, damm this, erase this non biblical appointment, all these stupid issues are taking up valuable time.

Also: Every now and then they would call a Bethel Elders meeting. This would take place one or two times a year or more, can't really remember. Anyway, they would talk about problems within the Bethel Family. What were these problems? Overindulging in Alcohol and Porn.

Holy Crapola!!! Are you serious? That was one of my goals!!! I remember one bethelite fought hard to become a bethel elder. It was hard for him because an elder in his group did not approve. Anyway, he told me that that elder had issues with him. But later on he became one. And funny thing is that the one who had issues with him got disfellowshiped from Bethel.
They usually make announcements once a year to tell the bethel family that new bethel elders have been appointed.
I would be pissed if I was working hard at Bethel to become one ... to become one your "Elder Group" has to approve... they look at your records ... morning worship attendance, they talk to your home overseer to see if you have any complaints from your housekeeper, your congregation elders to see how regular you are, etc.
HOt damm! If I was at Bethel right now I would peace out!
