not the video but the book. the youths on the cover are mostly from the NY area - the bethelite told me of at least one that was dfd (same hall) for fornication.
it's no joke. look closely! from then on it was recommened that the pubs use cartoonish figures instead of pictures .. i mean, think of the new youth book for kids...it's all cartoons.

so after a very, very slow process, thinking over things that were stored in a little box in a corner of my mind, i've decided to finally confirm or deny all the doubts i've had about the society.
i'm a 34 year-old married man, work as an it consultant, with two kids, ages 9 and 2. i was "born" in the organization.
so i took everything as true, never questioned anything, and did all that was asked from me.

the two i really got to know both had problems, in fact they where much in the same personality wise.
To a degree. As within a congregation, there are some pubs you can trust and there are some you can't.
One congregation I was in had a bad rap for bethelites cause one bethelite asked a fam. for a loan and never paid it. He left a bad impression about us so we had to do some repair work.
I will be glad to say I was not that type...shoot, the congregation that I left was left in tears, and no, not tears of joy.

I felt sorry for the guy - i mean he has been there for about 30 years and nothing to fall back on. I guess I would start drinking too.

I would have snitched on him but it was a blessing and a privilege to room with someone with a double room and to have my own room.
It was just a shame he never shared the booze.
a few months ago someone posted that the position of bether elder was to be removed.. i don't know how many bethel elders there were, but there must have been quite a few?.
are they just regular bethelites?
how would those under them feel, now that they're "one of us"?.
it's not they did a whole lot more anyway - the society can assign them to do what was considered bethel elder stuff but as regular elders.
