  The Big Four-Oh Today...

  so i'm 40 today.

  wow.... not only have i never celebrated my birthday, but my "date-of-birth" (april 20th) has always coincided with that of adolph hitler's and, more recently, the 1999 columbine student massacre.

  furthermore my daughter has just informed me that today (4/20) is also inernational marijuana day, apparently to coincide with the term "four twenty," which stands for pot.. anyway, although age 40 has traditionally been one of the major mile-markers in peoples' lives, i feel great!

  In your family, how many of the grown up children are still in?

  i am the youngest of 6 children (the only on that is out)and between us we have 12 kids.

  the last i knew only one was still attending meetings.

  two others were never baptized and see my parents once in a great while.

  My immediate family consisted of Dad (1965-85 cong servant/PO removed because of my disfellowshipping) Mom, 3 older brothers and myself.

  On Long Island "big deal"(what a joke) JW family. Brothers all pioneers, yady yady... Today Mom died (no blood) Dad a MS again 2 brothers out plus me. 1 brother just removed as an elder.

  Out of 6 only 2 still in.

  Easiest info for Dad/Brother?

  i have not been online because of computer issues, but now it's fixed.

  i am going to surprise my jw dad along with two of my brothers for his 85th birthday this weekend.

  my one brother is out and the other is a staunch jw along with dad.

  Hi everyone. I have not been online because of computer issues, but now it's fixed. I am going to surprise my JW dad along with two of my brothers for his 85th birthday this weekend. My one brother is out and the other is a staunch JW along with dad. I recently told my dad about the Rand Cam thing and the UN. He said he would look at the info. The problem is I don't want this to turn into a big fight. He is old so I want it to be as easy a read as possible. Any ideas on the easiest documents to read about the UN, Rand Cam, 607 , Blood. Any help would be greatly accepted. Thank you in advance.

  I thought is was great! Another favorite of mine is American History X with Ed Norton.

  Has anyone seen The House Of D, which was David Ducovny(wrong spelling) first directorial movie. It was similar in feel to Crash. I really enjoyed it too!

  Dad agreed to look at UN and Rand Cam info

  Good morning everyone!

  Visited my staunch JW dad over the weekend. My husband(never jw very educated) was with me. When my dad and I started our usual arguing over the Watchtower my husband decided to jump in. He very rationally explained how they joined the UN and about the shares of stock(he is invovled in that business) they recieved. It was unbelievable but my dad agreed to look at the info on both. We also went online on a Greek language website and we started reading this really informative article on Joh 1;1 and I think he may have had a small seed planted. He then asked my husband to write a letter to the Watchtower in regard to both situations(because of course, there is a very good explanation).

  Can someone give me advice on the best way to go about this and the best place to get the info that will not show any bias aganist JW's?

  i figured with everyone here from all over the world i'd ask for some suggestions.

  my family usually spends most of the summer at the beach out on the east end of long island.

  this years i think we will spend less time there and would like to go somewhere for about a week or aliitle more.

My kids are 10 and 14 and love to do everything from physical stuff to museums. We are open to almost anything. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

  Going to visit staunch jw dad

  i know this is probably pointless to some but i just feel like posting to those who can relate.. i am going to visit my ministerial servant, liasion committe, 85 year old dad.

  he lives in florida.

  I know this is probably pointless to some but I just feel like posting to those who can relate.

  I am going to visit my ministerial servant, liasion committe, 85 year old dad. He lives in Florida. I am taking my kids and husband with me. I am so dreading it. I love my father, but all he talks about is Watchtower crap. He literally has no other interest. I mention to him that we will either fly in Thursday night or Friday morning. He then says something about the meeting on Thursday night. So here I am dragging my family down to see him(and my boys really do want to go) and he is concerned about missing a meeting. It so pissed me off.

  I then talk to my JW brother who was just removed as an elder and he says, I know how you feel but be the BIGGER person.

  The only weird thing was I also told him about these JW's questioning my friend in town about me. He then said "don't talk to them". If they find you and tell you they will DF you say "your going to sue them". How weird is that. You profess to be this witness and yet you tell soneone to sue. They are just so brainwashed!!

  I was reading all the different post and deciding if I should broach either the 607/thing or maybe blood issue but I then just say what's the point! It all just seems so futile. He is what he is, why can't I just let it go!

  My Dad died this evening

  i thought i would let you know that my dad, passed away a little while ago, tonight, january 23. they called me at 6pm to tell me.

  he had been failing rapidly for the past month, and had completely lost his hearing and was totally blind.

  the dementia was extreme too, and he still knew me on thursday, but didn't wake up to know me in the following days.

  I am so sorry for your loss, I am however happy you were able to spend the last years of his life with him and happy. I know exactly how it feels to lose your parent so my heart goes out to you and your family. PC
