Thanks everyone.. I am going to call my local Community College and just find out what I need to get started. It's always so weird to talk with people outside of EX-JW's because they just can't believe anyone who graduated HS in the late 70's didn't go to school..I took some courses at Parsons in Manhattan and just BS'd my way into Fashion buying because I lived in NYC. I wished I would have kept persuing my degree but I had very little drive because the WORLD WAS ENDING SOON!

Hi all...always read seldom post...
I was just wondering if anyone has some advice for me in regard to a career. I have been home raising kids and know would like to re enter the work force. I took some design classes early on(in my 20's) but never got a degree. I actually had a pretty substantial buying job in fashion for about 6 years. My problem is I always acted like I had a college degree but now they can check. I am thinking about getting a degree but quite honestly I am alittle scared. I am smart but sometimes alittle too ADD.. Any advice???
Sorry if this sounds lame!!

Did You Like Your Congregation?
by minimus inthe hall i was in the last few years was not a bad place.
most of the people were middle class, some had college educations (like the po and his wife); they generally weren't over critical.
of course there were a few elders and publishers that were pains but for the most part the people in that hall were pretty decent.

It's funny to think back to those times growing up. My dad was the Overseer in a Long Island Cong. We had split with another cong where the Overseer was one of the remnant. It was always hard for my brothers and me trying to live up to what others thought about us. But for the most part there were some remarkable people and if they weren't in the "Cult" many would have lead amazing lives. I can really say I loved some of my parents friends, most have passed away. My dad is still alive, lives in Florida and is still a stauch JOBO. Sometimes I really feel so very sad for what might have been. My dad is an amzing loving man blinded by the "light"......

i was at the braves stadium in atlanta all 8 days with a sunburn and then wet clothes after the rain storms.

My Mom died yesterday
by skeptic1914 inmy mom passed away yesterday.
she was a die-hard jw.
i tried to explain why i couldn't accept certain teachings but rather than rationally consider what i had to say she chose to believe i was just "confused".

Just want to express my sympathy for you. No matter what she was your mom and I personally know how that feels. My prayers are with you. I lost my mom 5 years ago to the whole blood bullshit, my dad still a staunch witness at 86 is still trying to get me bank into the "truth". By the way I am from New York Long Island originally.Farmingdale Cong.

I know this probably sounds so silly, but my dad didn't even say anything about my Birthday. My sons were so sad for me. They have grown up without the JW cult so they really don't get it. Of course he was at the special 2 day assembly in Florida so how could he remember
