i think many jws are not aware of how often they do this.
since leaving slightly over a year ago, i have discovered many that i had not even been aware that i used.

I often think that if the LORD was human he would have been committed to a psych. ward. He displays a severe personality disorder that I cannot even begin to reconcile with the behaviour of a 'loving' father. -

Canada was responsible for providing the majority of advanced air training to New Zealanders during WW2. To this day, members of the RNZAF have a particularly soft spot for Canadian airmen.
And I'm pretty sure the guys from Mythbusters are Canadian. Anyone confirm? -

Need word to a JW Song

it was, i think called "make the truth your own" and the verse i remember goes - make the truth your own- from something something you'll be shown(???
) by the way you do conduct yourself you make known that the truth is your own" a scan of the page would be great but any help would be appreciated.

This was a question that was asked from time to time and I think the explanation was that the soul (nephesh ?) or the persons characteristics etc. were remembered by Jehovah so that the person could be resurrected with those same qualities. The corrupted body would be made afresh though.
I used to confuse this with spirit (neumah ?) and always felt that someone was trying to pull the wool over my eyes!

What do you think of this?
by mrsjones5 inmy son, joshua - the 3 year old, loves the us flag (he has a couple mini ones), any map of the united states (even the little weather map in the newspaper), the statue of liberty (likes to pose as such and is fixated on looking a picture of said statue) and is now starting to take an interest in the federal buildings in d.c.. we really don't know that to think about this other than keeping him supplied with maps, flags, and pictures of the statue of liberty.. what do you all think?.

Mrs Jones, this is one persons explanation of why she loves maps.
"I've never stopped loving maps. I think in maps, and when I think of people, I think of them in their place on a map in my head. That's how I catagorize people, I guess, even people who live two blocks over from me. If someone lives halfway round the world, then I think of them in an area of the globe. If I don't know someone's place, I can't put them in that concerete spot that makes them real to me, so they remain a little like a disembodied spirit in my mind."

Today is final court date.
by FreedomFrog ini wasn't sure if i wanted to post something about this on here or not but most of you already know about the problems from beginning and now to the final end of our ending marriage.
today in less than 4 hours it will be final.
on a positive note, dave and i seem to be better friends in the last few months (go figure that one out).

Prison Bars around the Mind!

it must have been an absolute miracle for shawn hornbeck's parents to find him again.. i understand that young shawn had relative 'freedom' at times when his captor was at work.
i understand that many people will not understand why shawn did not run away at those times.

I watched Shawns step-dads media interview and it was thrilling to see these two boys back 'safely'.
I feel a bit bad though as I watched Shawn, something about his demeanour seem right and why didn't he just escape?
I should have asked myself the same question when I was trapped in a fearful religion. -

Patient Unexpectedly Blows Off Steam!
by bigmouth ini volunteered today to work with an agency that cares for people with psychiatric and intellectual problems, a kind of place that helps former patients learn coping and practical skills.
i was being introduced to some of the patients and for a brief moment got to talk with a young man who told me about some serious problems along with his separation from his wife.
suddenly, it all came out how jehovahs witnesses f..... up his life and interfered in his marriage!

No vitty, I did ask him how JW's got involved and he was a little vague. He said he 'just kind of let them into his life'. As he gets to know me better he may open up some more. He looks terribly sad and yet shows flashes of anger so there's a lot going on.
