(baylor university, waco, tx) an essay entitled, "jehovah's witnesses, blood transfusions, and the tort of misrepresentation," found in the autumn issue of baylor universitys prestigious journal of church and state, published december 13, 2005, exposes the vulnerability of jehovahs witnesses religious organization to massive claims for compensation because of the religions misrepresentation of the medical risks of blood transfusions.
this milestone essay critically examines one of the religions main publications for teaching their children and new recruits about their blood beliefs, how can blood save your life?
the peer-reviewed essay details many misrepresentations of medical facts, which the religion partly relies on to support its blood prohibition, thus denying its members from making fully informed medical decisions.

i just finished reading this fascinating book about his drug addiction and alchoholism and have realized that my own alchohol abuse in the past was nothing compared to what he went through and came out of, in his own way.
this is one book that i highly recommend whether you have, had, or never have had a problem with alchohol and drugs.
has anyone read this book?
This is also on my To Read List...I am currently reading "Memoirs of A Geisha". I wanted to give "A Million Little Pieces" to a friend who is trying to dael with an addiction. I am not sure he would read it, but I want him to know that he is not alone. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help a loved one with a chemical dependancy problem? He has been in treatment before, but says that it doesn't work. I am at my wits end. I can see the pain he is going thru.
.
if anyone has been partaking in this i'd be grateful for hints on level 90......... http://home.planet.nl/~qwyzzle/

Hi,
This is so odd because there IS an elder in my hometown that was so starnge. He once kissed my best friend's brother in the back of the hall. Needless to say, her brother is no longer in the JW's. That was 20 yrs ago. All the parents in my congregation just loved this elder because he was "great" with the children. He was gross and icky. Yet, he gave talks was PO for a long time and to top it off, professes to be of the Annointed.
