hi heather,
thanks for the pm. i am doing good(well i'm trying to anyway)...do what i do, use your stepfather as a bad example. i have been a step father and there is a big difference between caring and not caring.
my mother married a man that was a complete and utterly a-hole.
he made life miserable, and i would say he made my life like living in hell (for 9 1/2 years).
i don't know what his problem was, but i guess it was this darn religion and more.

i was talking to two elders yesterday..... i was confronted about the whole "bad associations" question.
i asked them what "bad associations" were.
they have no idea what bad associations are to the author, only their opinions and the opinions of their chosen leaders.
d/c,
if it is my opinions they are adopting, i call them friends...hehehe

welcome heather,
i have a similar story, except my stepfather was never a jw, never read a watchtower, never read an awake...and was horrible person to me for thirty-three years; right up until he died. but you can rise above this.
terry's thread on who is right - jesus or paul, got me to wondering; why didn't jesus write anything down?
surely he would know that the things he said would be written down at some point, and that this would be the beginning of misunderstanding what he was saying.
secondhand accounts of spoken words have a way of changing dramatically from the original words.
he did. but, then his harddrive crashed while he was checking the weather during a lightning storm and... wait a minute that was me... never mind.
im not jws never was after long time on this boards i just cant believe this s***t still going on in this century why the public is not aware about all the horror this cult is all about?.
i know this man jws he is ms (he work for me) at the beginning he was afraid of me he was looking at me like i was satan himself or better im lost sheep and sometime i was a goat.baaaaaaa lol, he is married and was virgin at age 28yr (what a f**** s*** this is?
) no kids (the big a is around the corner,,,,,, right s**t) .
interesting post z. it sounds like the two of you like each other well enough to want something good for the other person. my advice would be to accenuate the part you can agree on and be very careful how you handle anything you can't agree on. of course you have to have the other persons cooperation on this. a
lot of people on both sides of this fence tend to not listen to the other person or pay attention to someone who isn't listening to them in the first place. but if the two of you can talk without confrontation you can do some real good.
what do you think of the lyrics to neil young's new song?
"when god made me"
was he thinkin' about my country
just heard "southern man" sung by the simpsons. one of their good covers....

star,
when god made neil young he gave him all the lyrics i wanted to have. at least someone got them.
clovis, welcome to jwd. did you know there is an arrow point called clovis? here are some lyrics i often sing...to myself
"when i talked to god i knew he'd understand
he said stick by me and i'll be your guiding hand
but don't ask me what i think of you
i might not give the answer that you want me to...oh well (peter green)
without disclosing who or where, i have a jw client who is pursuing an unfair dismissal claim and i have today managed to negotiate a hefty settlement in respect of his dispute (he was actually quite wronged to a degree).
he obviously doesnt know i post here because i dont suppose he would mix with apostates (even though i have done some good work for him).
so i presented the offer to him and some advice as to whether or not he should accept the offer and largely its a commercial decision he faces; does he carry on and continue to incur fees or does he settle now for a decent sum and cut his losses; you can imagine the scenario.
db,
thanks for the clarification. i'm sorry i miss judged you. the thing i like most about jwd is the diversity of its population. we all have something to offer and hope to be of some help, sometimes to complete strangers...people we may never meet in person, but for some reason we are compelled to try and help these strangers...i think that is a beautiful thing. i look forward to learning something of the british system of things from you and others. thanks again.
we are just two sheep.
