with all of the america bashing going on of late, i thought i'd mention the fact that america stands for freedom, as flawed as our system may be.

you're even free to be critical of the government and it's leaders.

the many men and women who have died defending this country did so to preserve the rights even of people who hate the u.s. there are many different cultures here, so there are many different attempts at creating laws for the land.

saying all a long it's about money and power. Tell me
how many nations out there want us to be the world
power. Most of the Nations at the U.N. vote against us. Do you really think we can police the whole world
when we can not even police our own streets.

The confederacy would NEVER(it's bad to use a word
like never) have survived(how do you know that) there
backward thinking(I guess yours and the norths was
frontwards) and total reliance on a agricultural economy.
You mean NO nation on the face of the earth today(of
course over time some in the south would have sold out to the industrialist and there WHOLE economy at this time wouldn't be based on cotton and tobacco.) survives
on what it grows.

Last about rich and powerful states. They can not over
throw the federal government. The states national guard
do not have the weapons to suceed. Back to the second
amendment the right to bar ARMS not guns. So give me the stealth bombers(which I'm sure Calif. has paid for
there fair share of) keep the FBI CIA DEA ATF and all other underhanded federal forces out of my state.

Now all I need is a Jefferson, RFK, Davis, Tupac, Malcom,
or Teddy Rosevelt for governor and the great state of Cali.
Is now one fine country. Anybody for some fine imported
wine from the great country of California

JUSTA THOUGHT---Ask ANY historian who our greatest
president was it's unanimous my friend. Seems to me
the U.S. kept the south by shear brute force.

P.S. if your not sleeping yet our government actively in
the modern past has toppled ligitament governments
I would venture to guess we still do.
We have no right to tell other people what kind of government they should have and the constitution does not allow for it .

The reason we hang together is because individual states
such as South Carolina does not have a fleet of stealth
bombers. Ah yes the confederate flag and ol' dixie it's
all about power and the FEDERAL government has all
the power and all the money , do we have a choice but
to hang together, REALLY.

Why is Lincoln considered are greatest President?
Didn't he realy go against what Jefferson wrote.
Hmmm where was South Vietnam and South Korea
when Jefferson Davis needed them. Think about
that one for awhile?

The recent election shows we should be two different
countries. Why are we happy at the split up of the U.S.S.R.
Yet would think it treason to suggest the good ol' U.S.A.
should be split up?

It is all about Power and Greed my friends but hey some
of us are PROUD that we go around the world and kick
ASS. I'm not for what the South stood for, but I kind of wish
there was as PROUD a country back there that could have
come over here and kicked the North's ASS. Seems that
would have been fair all things considered.

in directly opposite directions in your posts please

is this statement about foriegn or domestic policy.
If it's foreign like I think you talking about. Jefferson
and Cohorts did not allow for us to "KICK SOME
OVERSEAS BUTT". As late as the 1940's America
was a isolationist country like the forfathers wanted
us to be so no "kicking butt on your conservative watch"
Your proud that we go running when some country

First tell me what countries screams for the hollier
than thou U. S. to help them. Most if not all scream
for us to stay the hell out of there business.Also our
conservitive constitution does not allow for our boys
to fight in such wars our boys our not suppose to

look it up.Also sending our boys cost lots and lots
and lots of money. But you are also proud that " we send BILLIONS of dollars to third world countries"
Tell me TR how ya gonna cut taxes that way. Sounds
like your pretty damn liberal to me. Are you saying
spending TRILLIONS of dollars on things outside
the country and not allowed for in the constitution
thats CONSERVATIVE. But spending BILLIONS on
U.S. citizens is liberal. If you are you must have went
to school with JR too because you speak with fork
tongue. Jefferson just laughs and laughs and laughs.
Hey conservatives and taxes "read my lips now NO
new taxes" pops forgot to add until I'm elected. Under
Reagan we had our biggest tax increase's in histroy .

TR----good topic--but I'm on the side of the table Seeker
and Fodesa and Bigboi are. So one Question for you
TR being you quote the man. Tell me please if the
apostle to the U.S (JEFFERSON HIMSELF) was a live
today don't you think he would be under constant
survielance by ALL government agencies. I know you know
because you quote him so often that he said" there should
be a revolution EVERY 25 years or the citizens are not
doing there job". I really don't think your conservitives
would like him too much in fact he probably would be
serving a lifetime sentence in a federal prison for
treason. Unless of course he got in between some
lone assasin's three different angle shots, or taken
out in the lobby at a hotel when it looked like a legal
peacful shift in government would take place.
The Apostle Jefferson roles over in his grave every
25 years looks out and laughs at us all.And TR "thats

i support the death penalty, but i agree that our judicial system needs to overhaul how wwe treat criminals to achieve better rehabilitation results.

and of course, withhold the death penalty in cases where there could be doubt.. in mcveigh's case, i believe that he deserves the death penalty.

Justathought--Have we finally HIT common ground.
To back up a second where's the reply to my question
about Sammy and Gotti. You called it Democracy not I.
You said AL won the popular vote. But being in a
Republic that didn't matter.Because WE are still
letting ourselves be ruled by the wealthy(WHITE) land owners who put the "Electorial college" in over 200 years ago.In fear of the people electing an idiot to the White house.
Now being the electorial college has done what it was
set up to prevent we should abolish it. But WE can't
only the wealthy and powerful ol' WHITE boys in
Washington can. Now during the time of NO president
elect there was much hype in the MEDIA about getting
rid of the college. But since the loser won and has no
chance of winning again if the electorial college is abolished
NOTHING will CHANGE. And there in lies my claim
that no adult U.S. tax paying citizen is INNOCENT.

Is there anybody out there who would have nominated
Ashcroft for A.G. let alone voted for his confirmation.
Yes democracy at it's finest, these are not rants my friend.
Ashcroft is a fact just ask around you if he is lucky he
would get 25% of the vote. Thomas is a fact do the same.
Lord let us hope no justice's will retire while this spoiled
rotten brat is in the White house.

BTW---Lets bring back Mario Cuomo and lets abolish the
death penalty while were at it.

Teejay---FYI--Truman ordered the bombing of the cities.
Good ol' IKE--sent green horn troops to slaughter on
the beaches at Normandy.......Thats why he sent green
horn troops(never been in battle before) because he
knew they were all going to die. Oh I also believe that
if CNN was alive and covering the invasion that my
friend would have been the last week America was in
Europru's war.

I know exactly what McVeigh did my points are to try to
make you see the injustice in our so called justice system.

Justathought---your argument falls pittifully short.
Why isn't Hansen getting executed, Sammy the bull,
Gotti, ect, ect, ect,ect,-------The last two have certanily
harmed more INNOCENT children than McVeigh did
answer me.

Oh and this is a republic not a democracy, put it to
a vote, and you'll find out.The majority of people want stringent gun laws(Mcveigh on the other hand sided
with the NRA and the 2nd amendment) people are
against the death penalty. The majority of people
were against Clarence Thomas for the Supreme court.
If you didn't know AL got more votes than JR,thus Al
won the majority. People were against a "punk" naming
more ass-holes to the supreme court but hey the people
lost. In the U.S. money talks and the people walk,
wake the f**k up.

OLDHIPPIE and Mommie good comments wow someone
agrees with me and I'm out of the friendly confines of the
cafe--scary thought. Cowboy no I didn't realize you had
any personal involvement with people who were killed
or hurt. I agree that INNOCENT childen died, not adults.
My point further up the thread was INNOCENT children
die everyday some killed by there loving parents these
not INNOCENT parents are not but to death. Some are
not even charged, the children remain INNOCENT and
dead. And Dead is Dead my friend by a bomb or simple
neglect. The death penalty is wrong and McVeigh is not
a coward thats my believe and I'm sticking to it.

Teejay--The mother will not be a heroine--for she lives.
Yes she lives to have another child that she may or may
not neglect, defintely no hero status for her.

She had nothing to say or stand for she was flirting
with the guy next door. Her evil was far greater than
McVeigh's.

BTW out here in hot sunny Arizona you can't count the
times you see a commercial on T.V. about keeping
your kids safe from water so my friend there is much
"public awareness". Tell me ol' man how many times
a day everday of the week for more than six months
out of the year for year after year---Have you seen
Clinton signing the ban on assault rifles? Now I'm
against guns like I have said and I knew Clinton signed
something along those lines. But really until McVeigh
did what he did I really did not take in all the ramifications.
It is not I who will elevate McVeigh to hero status it will be
all gun loving americans who do when there guns are
taken away----as for me I can't wait for the ban.

He was not a coward in the gulf war after the gulf war
while he was driving the ryder truck or lighting the bomb
and he wasn't a coward when they put him to sleep for
what he believed in.
