I believe he was a public prosecutor for a few years in MO but I am uncertain if it was an elected position.

Was Judge Rutherford a Success?
by VM44 incan judge rutherford be considered successful person?
the answer is "yes, he was very successful indeed.".
this is amazing, because rutherford really was quite an ignorant man, particularly about science.. he was, however, very very crafty, and was able to place himself as president for life of a religious organization, and have all the members of the religion thinking that he was chosen by jehovah god himself to lead and manage the religion.

Hi TMS,
You wrote "Rutherford was a success as a politician"
I have read that he was involved in politics (and of course you could be referring to "political" within the organization) but have yet to find a solid reference.
"Rutherford Uncovered" mentions it as does Gruss but ...nothing specific like "in 19XX, Rutherford ran for office of XX and won/lost..."
Do you have any information regarding his life as a politician?
Thank you.

Go to any Mensa meeting and you will prove this point. :-)
There are lots of dumb smart people and smart dumb people (as in "dumb is as dumb does").

What constitutes proper use? Watchtower Library has been designed for your personal use. Hence, you may copy, print, or excerpt from the data for your personal use. But you may not distribute the program or large sections of the data to others who do not own Watchtower Library on CD-ROM. Nor may you copy, print, or excerpt from the copyrighted data to prepare and distribute books. Please do not put the program or data on the Internet or any public network.
I'm not an expert but what has been done does not seem to violate the "proper use" clause. I guess you could say the "program" is being distributed to some who do not "own Watchtower Library on CD-ROM" but ... I own it.
Notice they say "Please do not put the program or data on the Internet or any public network" as opposed to "You may not" ....I dunno' it seems very grey if they do not sell the material in its original form and they do not sell the material in the CD form ....I'm not concerned....I don't see the tort.
But, again, I'm no expert. (I'm starting to sound like Harold Dies (sp?) who would qualify everything ("sometimes, not always, but often....")

Maybe we can expect the WT to come after all of us downloaders, ala Napster.
What would be the tort? They are not for sale...are they? They are for Jehovah's Witnesses.... as was astutely observed....many are JWs without being followers of the WTBTS. I believe they are distributed to JWs for free...although a donation might be accepted. I could be wrong.

Been thinking
by KW13 in.
been thinking about this.. i am considering making the 2005 watchtower cd available as a download for a period of time from my server.
i'd compress it and make it small as i could, it would be in iso format so you then burn it using nero to cd.. i will look at how practical that would be sometime this week.. who would find this helpful?

JWs are also in the dark regarding the true meaning of Sheol/Hades.
by Schizm inthe watchtower society explains "hades" as being "the common grave of mankind".
christendom's understanding of "hades" is, for the most part, quite different than that of the watchtower society.
the one similarity between the two beliefs is that in both cases "hades" is considered to be a literal place.. the truth of the matter is that neither the watchtower society or christendom has a correct understanding of the terms "hades".

I am faced with serious decisions here - Can you help me find the answer?..
by AK - Jeff ini am going to reveal details of a personal nature here.
these details may reveal who i am to anyone looking to finally expel me from the organization - but frankly that it of little importance compared to what i am now having to decide.
i ask those who here - with either the qualifications, or who can direct me to those with such, to respond.

M y condolences to you and yours in this troublesome time.
I have no certain information but I firmly believe you should contact an attorney who specializes in these matters.
Perhaps you should either adopt or be granted legal custody of the children?
The past and potentially future instability of the father(s) does not bode well for counting on them to be "reasonable."
Protect the children and yourselves.
Best wishes.
