  recommending “god's debris: a thought experiment” by scott adams.

  just finished it (audio version, in the car).. i ‘read’ this book because i enjoyed adams’ “win bigly: persuasion in a world where facts don't matter” (audio version, while working in the woods).

  if you have a background in persuasion, some content may be redundant but, overall, very entertaining and current..

  Recommending “God's Debris: A Thought Experiment” by Scott Adams. Just finished it (audio version, in the car).

  I ‘read’ this book because I enjoyed Adams’ “Win Bigly: Persuasion in a World Where Facts Don't Matter” (audio version, while working in the woods). If you have a background in persuasion, some content may be redundant but, overall, very entertaining and current.

  Both are fairly well-written and, most importantly, thought-provoking. Moving to his “Loserthink” soon.

  Was There An Occasion Where An Entire Congregation Broke Away?

  i remember reading somewhere (perhaps on here?

  ) than an entire congregation disassociated and started their own congregation after decided that the gb were apostate.. was this an urban myth or is there any evidence of this?.

  Yes in fact there is a book about the story of how a hundred or so JWs in Alberta left the organisation along with Penton. I don’t think they manged to take a Kingdom Hall with them.

  Does Anyone Remember Mr. Coffee

  the apostate that hung around bethel back in the early 1970's.. i talk about "the frog" and "lady margret" in my book but knew nothing about "mr. coffee".

  any help please.

  I remember Mr. Coffee clearly. There have been several threads on him over the years.

  He would cry out how the JWs had a "blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack god" etc. for whatever reason. He really zeroed in on the GB.

  While walking with Carey Barber (?) on a particularly cold day with driving frozen rain, Brother Barber observed (haltingly) 'This is one day I'm happy to see him out' or something to that effect.

  I actually respected Mr. Coffee. I heard a society truck hit him (accidentally). A search of prior threads will surface the Mr. Coffee lore.

  It would be very surprising if the Watchtower did not track the referring URLs.

  We have a small website (Art, genealogy, etc.) and our analytics tell us not only what site referred the visitor but, if a search engine, the term the visitor input.

  Of course, that information is private and for the website's owner's use.

  Sorry, I refuse to give the wt my click.

  Perhaps I have it incorrect, but I thought a website (in this case JW.org) could identify the referring site when the visitor arrives via a hyperlink.
  
  For that reason, I try to always click the JW.org hyperlinks on this site so the brothers will know that people are checking out their site via boards of this type.

  Meal at Bethel

  an ex bethelite has made a video about the food that was provided at hq's.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxbe9hacqxu.

  towards the end he talks about the new arrangements with the cutbacks.for breakfast if you had served a certain amount of time at bethel or were old enough you could choose whether you wanted to attend breakfast/morning worship or not.

  first year bethels were made to attend to ensure they were watching the morning worship.

  Of all the challenges I faced at Bethel (Brooklyn, early 1980s), food was certainly not one of them.

  Food was great! As a married couple, we would 'glean' and use the Thomas' English Muffins (abundant in the commissary) and ....it was all good.

  at a very recent circuit assembly (usa), the accounts overseer gave the typical accounts report for the ca in the early afternoon.

  there were 2100 people at the assembly.

  If the loans were secured (almost certainly they would be) then a mortgage or lien or other instrument would be recorded in the public records....or however such encumbrances are made choate in that jurisdiction.

  'Insider information' should not be necessary.
