Scott Adams addressed it and put a bit of context around it. I have not seen the clip (or the complete interview).
Skip the fluff and go to 4:00 in

the reason that i ask is, in the two years on this forum and you tube, i've seen ex-jw's either drop off entirely or make fewer and fewer videos.
i know the emotional toll can be high.
is that the sole reason, or is it cost (video) or do you think it's external pressure (legal or family)?
A decrease in ex-JW activity is probably a healthy sign for most individuals. Once one has ‘come to grips’ with their experience (however long that takes), they move on.
For me, I’ve stayed “active” longer as I have an academic interest. Some are on this board for the interpersonal interaction …. it is, to some degree, a coincidence that they are ex-JWs.
Fading from ex-JW activity is natural and healthy. Just my two cents.
as i have stated in other posts i voted for trump because he said he would crack down on illegals while the left was trying to open the flood gates and let them in to destroy the nation.
was he the one i wanted in 16, no i was hoping for cruz.
he is arrogant but smart and somewhat polished and had many views like i do.
Nobody is perfect. I’ll take Trump over the “competition “ any day!
This is, basically, my view. We had to listen to 8 years of how articulate and messiah-like Obama was. The haters should just suck it up while The Orange One does his stuff.
I've moved my exercise time to coincide with his news conferences. Even when he is "reading" and the most boring...he is STILL way better than Hillary and her ilk.
Since, really, there are only two teams... I have to be with The Orange One. The economic growth and reduction in unemployment was nothing short of astounding....and that after the haters predicted Trump would crash the markets.
Orange Man is a loud, obnoxious, opinionated, narcissist. But...he seems to get things done. The seasoning of "not PC" is icing on the cake.
Just my two cents. You may feel differently. :-)
i haven’t seen her posting lately, is she all right?
i miss her insight..
she would be on trips during January to March of this year.
Very glad to hear it. She has had consistently valuable input. Safe travels!
while even non-peaceful people have been awarded the peace prize (e.g.
arafat, kissinger), i am confused as to how obama could possibly have won the award one year after being the first term junior senator from illinois with zero “peace” experience (other than his ‘well-articulated’ rhetoric)..
reading the obama-pining on a couple of posts made me reexamine my view of barry’s presidency..
Our replies mirror what I found EVERYWHERE else. What a decidedly un-peaceful decision to award the NPP to Obama. I guess they wanted to be provocative?
It seems to be the opinion of most that Obama received the NPP for what he "represented," ideologically, racially, whatever... rather than for something he had done. Basically for his campaign involving "hope and change."
sparky1: Perhaps if you consult with the source you will find your answer.
This was one of the first places I looked and that led to the question as this is simply BS. Utter, complete, car-salesperson-level, BS.
I guess Obama was, we all seem to agree, awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for being, as Joe Biden observed, 'articulate.'
" <snip> ... awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.
Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama’s initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.
Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population."

So….why, again? I'm certain it was all very clear when it happened...I can't remember now though.
it seems some people still maintain that trump will try to get help from the russians “again”..
Do you still need to see Obama's long form birth certificate?
Not certain what Obama has to do with it? If you think that Obama’s birthplace is a “fact” then… maybe you’d like to hear about how “you can live forever in paradise on earth.” The truth is that we’ll never “know” for certain (partially his pre-politics self’s fault for muddying the waters via name-changes, misrepresenting and “finding himself”).
What we can reasonably foresee is that Obama will be viewed as perhaps the least effective president since WWII (move over Jimmy) and probably in the lower third of all presidents. History will not judge Obama favorably (and will not be swayed by the identity politics everyone seems to glom onto with this ‘articulate’ man). His foreign policy will probably be the area in which he will probably be most severely criticized by the historians of 2120.
This thread is about a Russian threat, about which Obama sneered ‘The 1980s called, they want their foreign policy back.’ He was brilliant …from inserting himself into low-level domestic race tensions (and inflaming them) to “leading from behind” ….the man was brilliant …wherever he was born.
one of my favorite actors is robert de niro.
some of his later movies were so so but overall i think he was outstanding.
meryl streep, i just never thought she was anything exciting yet people say she’s the best actress of all time.
Not certain about "best" (subjective), but an outstanding actor is/was Robin Williams.
and do you think he has a chance to win it all?
?.
Why vote third party??
Because, like you, I live in a Democrat state. Voting third party is a way to have a "protest vote."
However, because of the uproar regarding the electoral college vs. the popular vote in 2016, I'll not vote third party this year.
so i am sure if you are at bethel and have the flu you just get time or what ever to recover, but what about serious sickness.
say you get cancer or some possible terminal illness?
what happens?.
If one had a chronic situation, it was suggested that they’d get better quicker at home (my BIL).
The largest physical problem I had while at Brooklyn (early 1980s) was due to a dropped piece of steel squashing my toe.
There was pressure building up under the nail and the doctor (who was a psychiatrist but performing as a GP) heated a unfolded paperclip and pierced the nail to relieve the pressure. We knew he had made it through the nail because when the very hot paperclip hit the very sensitive skin under the nail … I screamed.
He was a good guy and actually introduced me to diazepam (Valium) for “stress.” Perhaps he was more “liberal” than others.
Anyone remember his name? He had a family with him there as well.
