  Is Higher education strongly discouraged in 2007 district convention?

  today in our rehersal, i met with our district convension overseer.

  he told us that college or higher education is now strongly discouraged by the society.

  i argued that such policy is not practical here in the philippines since most jobs now require some sort of college education unlike in other countries where there are demands on skills regardless on educational attainment.

  This is a recoding of the talk from the convention in Gwinett, Ga:

  The Superiority of Being Taught by Jehovah

  The talk focused on the benefits of a basic education and how higher education is not beneficial. It takes the extreme that college is about partying all the time and how it can be a blow to one's financial situation. One sister interviewed gave her experience about how her college pursuit fared for her. My opinion was that she made bad choices vs it being the outcome of pursuing college.

  GUESS WHO I SAW YESTERDAY!

  as i walked into town,so i saw a lady with a baby in a pram with an elderly lady knocking on a door,i thought jws,ater i passe ,i believethe elderly lady pulled out a piece of paper to write on it(didn't actually see her do this,but her actions suggest that what she did)

  WTF FA, you can't flip-flop between your sarcastic remark and your decree that the entire group repents and flip-flops with you.

  Thanks for pointing that out. I shall rip apart my garments, put on sackcloth and cover myself with ashes. I will do that after Jeopardy, my wife doesn't like ash on the couch.

  If you feel that way, fine. I don't expect people to follow my effin' lead, I just get er' done (I hope I'm putting in terms you can understand.)

  Get over it... sheesh. And get to know a person before you decide to show your @$$. I'm done with you and I apologize for posting this on your thread badboy.

  willy says: well," because of all these christmas lights on these houses if armageddon came now it would be easy for gods destroyers to find the unworthy ones who will be eaten at the great evening meal of god.

  wilma says: oh", yes willy and just think of all the nice houses we can choose from to inhabit once those who opposes the society are killed off, just thinking about the possibility of having my pick of all these nice homes makes me more anxious for the battle to come.. .

  Willy bows his head and says: "Heavenly Father Jehovah, we thank you for this day of life and the opportunity you have given us to be messengers of your word. Though it is minus 20 degrees out here and Wilma has lost feeling in her legs because of her modest skirt and stockings, we are warmed by your spirit as we carry on this educational work that will only be carried out once throughout the inhabited earth.

  We pray that the Dunkin Donuts and coffee we just had will nourish our physical bodies and help impart the truth aright. We think how the entire inhabited earth is enshrouded in darkness and how we appreciate that you are using us a light bearers. And Father, more importantly we are grateful for the spiritual food that the Faithful and Discreet slave has given us through your orginization. We also pray that our bible study will open their hearts and ears and take in this life saving knowledge. We also ask that you continue to help them over the temptations of being male devil worshipping lesbian Red Cross Blood Donation Center workers.
  
  We know the Devil is always ready to ensnare us and take us away from you. He does this through many means such as the internet, the media and NBC. Please protect us from his machinations so that you may be able to provide an answer to him.
