herk, is that what the woman wrote to you, or what Dutchie posted on the forum? (Even though she posted it a while back, that definitely sounds like what she wrote in that post a while back)

How do we know you really exist SixofNine? You could just be a really good Bethel mole, too.
It is indeed strange that Dutchie has disappeared so suddenly. AlanF seems to have put foward a good possible reason. I actually spoke to her on email a couple of times, but she stopped replying after about the time she left here. Oh well.

Mankind's Search For God
by rocketman inmany of you no doubt remember when the society released the book mankind's search for god.
i had always figured that, since there were questions printed at the bottom of each page, the book would be studied at the congregation book study.
till this day, it has not been studied, and in fact, besides a couple of placement campaigns, not much was ever really done with that book.

Add me to the list of people who have wondered why the Mankind's Search for God book was not used. I read it and actually thought some of the religions were (gasp!).... more interesting than Christianity. I liked what was said about Buddhism and some of the other eastern religions, but they did only a very small chapter on Islam despite it being one of the largest religions.
In one of the beginning chapters, they make the claim that all the other religious books should be measured by the bible. They "proved" this point by quoting 2 Tim. 3:16 . And IIRC, they used Josephus' Testimonium Flavium as proof that Jesus existed. Even inspite of all this, it is one of the better JW books out there.

Well, I've become a lot of things since shedding the JW's (good things, of course ), but in the context of this thread, I guess I'd choose agnostic (but atheist to the god's that men have hallucinated about and claimed to have recieved "revelations" from).

Girls Have Cow-Like Sex Drive According To Watchtower
by AlanF inhow can girls guard against temptation in this sex-crazy world?.
when a girl reaches the age of puberty or physical maturity, her body has developed in the matter of sex more than in the mind.
young folks like to be together, first in groups, later in twos.

There are cases where a girl became pregnant as a result of one sex interview with a boy.
Sex interviews? Where can I sign up for one of those?

Oh and I didnt think we would be naked, just wearing national costume
I always found that very amuzing, actually. There can never be a picnic table of only black people, or only whites or only asians. It seemed almost mandatory that there would have to be at least one white couple wearing 1950's western clothing, one black couple wearing West African clothing (what about the folks who walk around topless? ), along with an asian or indian looking person. I wondered why the new system would have so many people identifying themselves by cultures of the "old world", especially given the fact that we would all be speaking one "pure language" anyway. I always figured the last genuine exciting action that would occur would happen when Satan got realeased after 1000 years to wreak havoc (and take with him the people who got too damn bored ). The rest of eternity would be one big boring repeating loop.

Did you cheat on your monthly report?
by JH ini was always honest with my field service reports, until the time when an elder came over to give me hell because i had only 1 hour that month in the field service.
i told him that i was working 50 hours a week, had a 4 day district convention that month and couldn't do miracles that month.
he never accepted my explanation.. .

I haven't been out in field service for close to two years, but yet still I am a regular publisher. What do you think?
I've got to be the most consistent "1hr., 2 magazines" publisher ever.

It's been so long since I've prayed on my own, that on the rare occasions I go to the bookstudy, I've got to dig deep into my memory bank to try to remember what it is I'm supposed to be praying for (since, I go so rarely, almost everytime I go to bookstudy I get called on to pray. For some BS conductors, such a sparce attendance record would be reason not to ask me to pray, but not for the guy at my BS apparently). Of course, I never ask for the GB to get a blessing or anything. Even asking a god I don't believe in for that is too much.
