If Masons are really just a free thinking society promoting virtue and liberty, how has this been accomplished besides a couple childrens hospitals, and what are the deep secrets that are so secret that a candidate for initiation must be blind-folded and swear under penalty of having their throat cut, not to reveal, when they don't even know what they are? And all this in the presence of the "Worshipful Master" of the lodge. What a title. And so-called Christians are encouraged to enter into this nonsense along with anybody who believes in a higher power?
And please connect the dots, besides a couple of commonly used symbols with different meanings to different people, and without quoting out of context - anything that Charles Russell wrote that would make the Studies in the Scriptures or the WT a haven or codebook for those who had sworn to the oath previously stated which is in total disharmony and antithetical to Christian baptism into the Body of Christ, which was the purpose for his writing the Studies in the Scriptures in the first place, namely to expose the false teachings of the Catholic Church in particular.

Ever wonder why Shriners, professing to be Christians, wear that "fez" with an Islamic sword emblazoned on the front and asked to swear an oath to not reveal secrets and they don't even know what they are? A lot of people get involved in things they don't understand for business, social or religious reasons, much like the jw's, but they are nonetheless involved.

Was any of this symbolism explained? It's my understanding having researched a number of sources that not all masonic ritual is the same. Since this was a made for public viewing, I would imagine it was cleaned up a bit. That of course because they wanted a "fair and balanced" reporting on their activities. And did the "worshipful master" ask the inductee what he was there in search of?

Please describe the initiation process. Are they really blindfolded with a rope around their necks promising to be torn limb from limb if they divulge any secrets? Something tells me their secrets aren't the nice things they do for children.

Observation of WT during Assembly

- they did a very good job saying how anything that is not 'of jehovah' is worldly and from the devil.

I certainly agree with that assessment. Anything that is not written or orated by the borg is worldly and therefore you have no other alternative to life than meetings, study, service and an occasional wedding or picnic. All the assemblies sort of run together, as you hear the same droning message ad infinitum with time left only for applause breaks. I guess they never read 1Cor 11:17. Ya think? So much for Heb 10:24
