  i have about 30 old books that i have collected over the years and i don't know what to do with them.

  i wouldn't mind getting a little money for them, after all, i did contribute and spend tons of money in car gas.

  I know of no value attached to the old Watchtower publications by the collectors market. There may be a JW who would place a value on them. Most KH libraries have this stuff displayed by the shelves full, but even these are treated as worthless. Curiousity value. All this spritual food has "gone off" and has no nutritional value any longer.

  In todays news re: Catholic priest being held under house arrest in the Vatican while being investigated for criminal child abuse. He was already defrocked in June for same.

  We have a huge High Def flat screen that I can watch from the comfort of my big recliner. Refrigerator and pantry are well stocked...no wonder I do not go to games often.

  Last week we attended a Major League Baseball game. Could not believe the costs beyond the ticket price. Hot dogs, a slice of pizza, etc are $8. Soft drinks are $5.00 A medium size beer is $9. + parking or train fare. The kids want a souvineir? How about a foam rubber finger for $8? A hat? fugeddaboutit.

  Had fun anyway.

  PS Mariners lost to the Oakland A's 4-zip.

  Observations from a day at the zoo

  so we went to calgary zoo today and i'm torn between zoo's being great for conservation vs using animals to make money.

  i think on the whole they are a good thing but it's sad to see some of the animals caged up - somehow i always end up staring into the eyes of a gorilla and it makes me sad.. but that isn't what struck me ... it's these things:.

  You can't deny the little guys the chance to see live wild animals up close. Zoos are more and more performing a conservation role which is good, but as with Simon, I leave a zoo visit in a sad frame of mind.

  Without thinking about it, lace your two hands together. They will come together naturally with either your right or left thumb on top. Left=right brain dominance and vice versa.

  One Day Assembly Costs How Much, WTF?

  the recent circuit assembly day cost get this... $17,0000 in an assembly hall that they own!

  this was announced during the assmbly at the 3/4 mark of days activities.

  after he said how much the assembly cost, he then proceeded to say that we have recieved $6,000 in donations up to this point of the day.

  The factors that could add up to $17,000.00 might be the prorated mortage/loan (probably from the WTB&TS) at a "reasonable " rate of interest, plus a bunch of factored in depreciation, maintenance, water and power, etc etc.
