  Wouldn't start the job without a couple of fifths of Cabernet on hand for the guests.

  the river now flows through it next to thunder island.. recently, an experimental device called the "eco-auger" was lowered into the locks current to begin tests of the beta model.

  it is about the size of a small school bus.

  Many small communities now operate on large diesel generators. That may be the best they can do in some locations but in areas where water, both rivers and tides flow constantly, this device can supply power for a fraction of the cost.

  I was at the site today and they are preparing to put the Eco-Auger back in the river now that the bad weather has abated. They are very professional in their data recording. They measure the electric output based on the knot speed of the water. at four knots the device can produce 4 Kw of electricity. That is enough for fifty Western style suburban homes, lights, clothes dryers, cooking, electronics, water heating, etc. Based on water depth, these devices can be stacked in very little space and only protrude about 8 feet from the bank.

  I can walk to the site in 5 mins. I have invited the owners and crew for lunch tomorrow. This is a wonderful machine.

  so why did he not simple let them die and not allow the offspring to?.

  The more one thinks rationally about the Old Testament mythology the more ridiculous it becomes.

  Then the New Testament picks up the mythology and gets us into accepting the concept of human sacrifice to appease God for the outrageous disobedience of Adam and his girlfriend, Eve. "I told you not eat that fruit. Now you've spoiled not only your supper but the lives of billions of your offspring." Give me a break.

  Then John smokes some schrooms and writes Revelation.

  As you can see from the various awards and recognition of the device, it is not intended to be a major source of grid power. But it could be life changing for small communities and villages in third world areas that are situated near rivers or tidal areas. The benefits to these millions poor people are unbelievable.

  The auger does not turn a generator. It powers an hydraulic pump that pumps down hydraulic fluid. This fluid that is under pressure is piped to a generating station out of the water. The highly pressurized hydro fluid then turns a very efficient turbine generator.

  Mr. McNamara spent almost an hour with us explaining the system. They brought the test machine out of the water today because our area is under a blizzard warning for the next two days.

  The hydraulic generator is housed in a little building about the size of a coffee drive up shack. It produces 2+ kW. That is a lot of juice.

  It can operate in tidal currents because the auger turns in either direction.

  I live a 5 minute walk to the testing site and have met the inventor and his crew. It is a beautiful thing to watch.
