  Why do you come here?

  i come here to learn, but i also come here because it feels like a private club and i'm privy to be a member of the "in" crowd.

  it's a great place to socialize.

  does anyone else feel that they are a member of a special "club" when they come here, that only some people in this world will understand the jw world?.

  our friend, oompa, has passed away.

  just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

  it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

  Phizzy - Know what you mean. Like driving 15 miles to save a dollar on a food item. Gas $3.50 gal. /30 mile round trip in a car that gets 25 mpg. ??

  Once paid a coin operated air fill machine because I was concerned about a tire and was out of town. Ordinarily, I check my tires and use the free air to inflate if neccessary.

  In Oregon you cannot pump your own gas. To the north, Washington and south, Calif. you pump your own.

  I would like to see more service stations provide clean restrooms. I love buying $50.00 worth of gas and having to ask for the key tied to a canoe paddle so I can use their filthy hole with no paper towels.

  My youngest son, growing up, excelled in math. By 10th grade he had left algebra and was into advanced calculus and triganometry (which completely left me out of helping with homework) . He breezed through a degree in engineering and then got a masters in economics.

  This was not due to any environmental influences, he just has a knack for it.

  PS He is right handed, Bi-polar and is managing very well.

  Saturday morning field service is a joke

  i havent been going door to door saturday mornings for since i can't remember when.

  i have been putting in regular reports to the congregation but the last time i actually went on a door was probably six months ago or so and it has been at least 2 years since i did a saturday morning.

  9:30 we showed up to the group arrangement, we waited outside because we were not sure that it was the right place.
