New explanation of Gog of Magog: Two Gogs?
by leaving_quietly ini just finished watching the recording of the talk at the annual meeting that re-explains gog of magog.
i caught something not previously talked about, that i can recall.. gog of magog is thought to be a coalition of nations that attach god's people during the great tribulation.
this is from ezekiel 38 & 39.. gog and magog in revelation 20 represents those with the same attitude as gog of magog.. thus, the new teaching (maybe not new, but i'll have to research this) is that gog in ezekiel is not the same as gog in revelation 20. two different gogs, happening about a thousand years apart.. .

I would say that the Gog of Magog doctrine of the 1970's was one of the most muddled concoctions the WT ever came up with. Right there with the Daniel book - kings of the N & S and the vision of the graven image and the stone from the mountain. As an elder I always had to be up on this stuff so I really noticed when the "slave" started waffling and adjusting the "TRUTH"

A picture paints a thousand words, but ...
by Simon inwhile i appreciate people like to post funny pictures from time to time i think it's sometimes gotten a little out of hand and has had a detrimental effect on some of the topics.
while many of the pictures are humerous this isn't intended to be a meme site and there's a tendency for pictures to keep pushing the line and becoming more crude, gross or shocking.. i'd like to request people think twice before posting things like this.
i'm not saying they are outright banned but please think twice before posting them - do they really futher the discussion any or do they detract from the conversation?.

I think the Amish have really got their stuff together. The hats, suspenders, vests, etc really work with the long beards.

Frankly, Outlaws snickering dog has become tedious. I enjoy his posts but the gimmicks are getting "dog eared"

I was not refering to mega international manufacturing agreements with GM. The small developments in our technology are extremely valuable to the Chinese. I was international sales manager for a company holding a very unique set of patents for a specific piece of equipment. It was routine to be approached at trade shows by Chinese who would always ask for the tech. Specs. Our sales lit specs were not good enough. We knew what was going on and got their contact info. Always China. We never sent them anything.

A question for my friends in the USA about cowboys.
by punkofnice inas a kid growing up in the uk we used to play 'cowboys and indians' and watch high chaparal and bonanza along with other cowboy films.
later, in the 70's kung fu would be shown with caine going through the 'old west'.
we even had a chocolate bar that was marketed with a 'cowboy' theme...milky bar.. as far as i know the 'wild west' as shown on tvdidn't actually exist.. are there people that believe it did?.

I was 19 in late 1964. I applied for work in both Deadwood and Lead (pronounced 'Leed') gold mines, I was rejected because I wore glasses and at 6'1" and 140 lbs didn't fit the profile they were looking for! Deadwood is in a very narrow, steep canyon. The main street is at the bottom and all the streets on either side go up at an extreme angle. I visited the saloon where Wild Bill Hickok was shot down holding aces and eights.

It is common knowledge that China flat out steals patented western technology.

Apple Cider Vinegar
by poppers ini've been drinking 1 tbs with a glass of water twice daily for digestion for about 3 weeks now.
i've found it helps, but it also acts as an appetite suppressant; i've lost several pounds since using it.
i'm consuming fewer calories because i'm just not as hungry as before.
