  hi everyone, i am supposed to meet with an elder tonight.

  i met several times with him before going over questions (my mother thinks he will restore my evil thinking).

  anyway we have already gone over all of the basics (1874,1914,607 no answer for this one, the un and everything else).

  This topic as with others here have all been very interesting to read, but I am a bit confused.

  Seems to me that almost every several days, some church denomination is in the news as having either lost a suit, settled, or be accused of sexual abuse against a child. This is so disturbing.

  In fact, the day week I was finishing up my research http://www.sacredtrust.passionwithin.com I was handed a local newspaper article that came out that morning about yet another church leader who was going to trial.

  Other than the general two or witness rule, what do you think would be the proper Christian response? I seem to recall throwing stones in the old testament. That would certainly create a media frenzy.

  sex offender legislation passes house - now write your senator 11/8/2005 .

  update: bill passed in house - help make sure it becomes law by writing to your senator

  too many innocent children have been harmed and killed by convicted sex offenders who found ways to avoid the very system used to "track" them.

  I suppose I might be considered somewhat radical for my views, but I fully support laws that hold the church accountable for the victimization of innocent children.

  most people have either been visited by jehovahs witnesses at one time or another, or know of them.

  It is definetly an issue that needs addressed. Unfortunately, it is a problem in many churches besides JW.
