Hi All,
I'm currently living in the UK, but am just submitting my application to move over to your end of the world with my Kiwi partner.
Hope to be over there by May next year, if all our plans go well.
We're moving to the Chch area.
hope we can meet up sometime.

Ania,
Loved the pics. Was over there in july, when you had all the snow.
My other half is a Kiwi, and we came over to visit them, and to travel for a few weeks.
Amazing country! Infact we're planning on moving out there May next year. I've just had my medical and waiting to send off the application this week to get my Work permit.
Can't wait to get over there. Perhaps we can all meet up when i'm over in ChCh.
Regards

during the time leading up to my baptism and even more so afterwards, my study conductor and her friend were always telling me how i shouldn't be watching the soaps.
(i had mentioned to them at some point how i enjoy watching emmerdale and coronation street).
they described them as being unwholesome and encouraging of immoral ways.
I remember my PO father banning us from watching soaps. Although we'd sneakily watch em anyway!
He was such a hypocrite, no to soaps for us but he religiously listened to The Archers. I always considered that a soap.

Hi, i remember Keith Gaydon. He used visit our congregation in Oxford.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
just looked up my old high school in classmates.com, i saw this dude who was a couple years older than me, didn't really know him but i knew his brother (who left the org the same time i did), his dad kicked him out of the house and he lived in his car, they are sons of one of the elders (assholes) who df'd my dad.
the good son was a good little jw that did everything a jw father (elder) would want his son to do, on his bio on classmates.com he says that he is gay, ha ha ha ha.
Hi,
Well i'm the gay son of a PO, and i have to say i must have been lucky. My parents and family still talk to me.
We don't actually talk about the subject, as i think it makes them uncomfortable. But as they say to me, i'm still their son and they love me and want me to be happy in whatever i do!
Just me experience i guess. Its diffrent for diffrent families.

my bf has had to go to belfast today for work.
he doesn't work away too often, this is only the 3rd time this year, and one of the times i went with him, but this time i have to stay home.
i took him to the airport this morning, hugged him as he went to board his flight, and i've been ok all day, until he rang me about an hour ago.
Hi Fullof,
I know how you feel. My partner has been in hospital for the last few nights. Its really weird him not being there.
I think the advice to treat yourself to something you'de not usually do will do the trick.

ive been lurking for a while now.
i've been about 8 years outta 'the truth'.
does anyone out there have trouble showing their emotions?
Hello,
Thank you all for your messages of support and your Welcomes.
I just found it interesting to see whether there was any corrolation between my not being able to cry and leaving the Borg. Perhaps there is, perhaps there isn't.
Hamsterbait - funnily enough i never had any trouble crying as a child and i used to get the same comments from my parents as you did.
Thank you all again for your comments. I hope to be a bit more involved in the board now and hopefully make some new friends.
Jonno
ps Katiekitten - i'm afraid that i don't know the person you mentioned. I was probably in the other Congregation. They didn't mix that much in those days. They were the rich cong!!!!

Does anyone out there have trouble showing their emotions? I'm not sure if its the JWs to blame or just me!
I just found out that my Mother has breast cancer and that my partner has skin cancer, so a double whammy. Needless to say i'm feeling rather low.
I managed to cry about half an hour ago. Not cried since i left the Borg!
Am i alone in not being able to show emotion?
