How does a person tell between their thoughts and if God is communicating?
by The Dragon ini asked my jw mom today...."how do you know if your thoughts are your or god communicating to you?.
the official jw explanation she refered me to is....."you just know"...... .
would anyone risk their lives, obey, and slave for someone because "they just know"?.

Dragon,
I can only tell you how my family and I have been doing it for the past several years. If we have a thought that we think is from God, we "test the inspired expression" as He says in the Bible to do. Our usual way of "testing" is to ask Him to show us a scripture. (I usually ask to see a scripture that is a direct quote from Him or Jesus and that has something to do with the subject at hand.) Then, we close our eyes, open our Bible at random and put our finger on the open page.
(Yes, I know people make jokes about this sort of thing. If they'd received some of the answers we have, they'd stop joking and get goosebumps!)
My son was skeptical about this at first, so he prayed, "Please, Jehovah, if you really are talking to me, let me open the Bible and put my finger right on your name." At first he thought his skepticism was justified because when he opened his eyes, he didn't see the name. Then he remembered that he'd asked to put his finger RIGHT ON it. So he looked under his finger and, THERE IT WAS!!
I could relate numerous similar experiences we've had, but probably the only thing that will convince you is to try it yourself, Dragon.
Please remember, though, that humility is absolutely necessary to receive this sort of intimate communication from God. "The proud he knows only from afar." (Can't recall offhand just where in the Bible that's found but I can look it up for you later if it matters.)
I do so hope that you're one of Father's lost sheep and that He'll be willing to communicate with you regularly as he does with us!
Please let me know! Either through a PM or public post.

Daydream1900,
You said:
“i was also having dreams and premonitions about things that coming true, and i was kinda knowing what people were gonna say before they said it!”
Could this have been Jehovah’s holy spirit letting you know that Jehovah was communicating with you personally? The reason I ask is that some of us from my former congregation of JW’s have had similar experiences as a part of “hearing” Jehovah, as we call it. (Five of us were thrown out for talking about our experiences with this.)
The Bible is full of examples of holy spirit telling people what was going to happen. The idea that in modern times only the demons do this is an unscriptural teaching of the Society.
Of course it’s important to do as 1 John 4:l says and “test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God.” But once we’ve done that, why should we doubt that the source is holy spirit?
I hope you’ll pray earnestly to our heavenly Father about this and ask him to let you know for sure if he really is talking to you. You might have to ask repeatedly, of course. But then listen with your whole heart and mind for his answers.
I think Jehovah is telling me that, as Loli suggested, He really did lead you away from the Organization of JW’s because he wants you to be able to listen to Him without being told it’s a demon.
He is scattering his sheep for now, taking care of us in our scattered state, and later he’ll bring us together again.
Please let me know how this turns out. I love to hear the experiences of other “hearers” of Jehovah.
Prayerfully,

Birthdays-Are They REALLY Wrong To Celebrate??
by Lady Liberty ingood morning all and happy tuesday,.
most everyone knows that jehovahs witnesses do not celebrate birthdays.
the reason is that there are two examples given in the bible of birthdays and bad things happened both times.

Lady Liberty,
No, I'm quite sure it isn't wrong. I suspected this for years, but now I'm sure of it.
I'm one of 5 people from 3 different families who were thrown out of our small congregation for saying that Jehovah really does communicate with us personally. He guides our thoughts with holy spirit, in other words, and we perceive certain thoughts as coming from Him. We speak of this as "hearing" Jehovah.Your Thread on birthday celebration caught my eye because one of the first things Jehovah taught us when we were learning to "hear" him was that it's OK with Him if we celebrate birthdays. And when the Society forbids it, they deserve a scathing rebuke from Jesus for teaching commands of men as doctrine.

Anyone forcibly removed?
by Wordly Andre innot sure if this has been talked about but,
when i was about 12, my family and i were sitting in the middle of the kingdumb hall, i was seated at the end of the aisle, and some lady sitting about 7 rows in front of us got up and started yelling, and ran up to the speaker, two guys grabbed her and took her outside, we never saw her again, but i do remember all the rumors about her, and what she did, i saw her clearly but people were saying that she tried to attack the elder with a knife, i did not see a knife, other rumors were drugs, demons, apostate, etc.
has anyone here been removed from the kingdumb hall by force?

My daughter and her husband were forcibly removed. This happened sometime in 2005, I think, not all that long ago.
My daughter and her husband are 2 of 5 of us who were disfellowshipped from our small congregation because we believe Jehovah communicates with us personally and because we tried to help some victims of abuse who were being pushed around by the elders. The elders said we were “causing divisions.”
Some time after we were disfellowshipped, Jehovah told my daughter to go to the K. Hall and warn the elders who threw us out that they would die because of their “bloodguilt.” Her husband was to go with her as moral support and to make sure she got a chance to deliver the message.
So, after one of the meetings, she attempted to post the Message on the Information Board at the back of the Hall. She knew, of course, that the elders would be watching and would prevent her from actually posting the Message. Her plan, at that point, was to hand the message to whatever elder accosted her and to announce its contents in a loud voice. As she began doing this, she and her husband were grabbed (yes, physically grabbed) by several of the brothers, including elders, and forcibly removed from the K.Hall.
On the way out, my daughter shouted into the ear of the elder next to her, “JEHOVAH LOVES THIS ORGANIZATION [i.e. the people in it] AND HE SAYS HE’S GOING TO GET RID OF ALL THE ROTTEN, WORTHLESS ELDERS!”
(Later she said, “I don’t know whether anyone else heard me or not.” To which her husband replied, “Are you kidding? Even those back in the restrooms could hear you!”)
She and her husband were forbidden to come into the Hall ever again. If they did, the police would be called, they were told. -

After much prayerful consideration, I believe Jehovah and Jesus want me to help Lawrence in his fight for justice. So I've sent him a contribution.
Some may scoff, but I'm willing to trust Jehovah and Jesus to help Lawrence use the money in a good way.
