I'm new to posting here but I have been coming here to read the posts for a couple of years, when I first came here I was in my bitter/angry stage, since then I have come to realize I still love some of the people I used to call brother/sister and now I just feel sad for them and I still miss a lot of them. I am in complete awe at the wealth of knowledge of some who post here and I spend a lot of time just sitting here reading and copying some of the information to save in a folder I have on my desktop for just that purpose. The watchtower has no hold on me any longer and I care not if they know I'm posting here that is my real picture and I would love to see someone from my old congregation here one day, I was in the same congregation for 26 plus years. Why do the majority of "newbies" disappear ???
by kid-A ini have noticed that, in general, there is a "core" of regular posters on jwd that have been members for several years.. however, it seems the vast majority of "newbies" disappear after a couple posts, days or perhaps a week.
how many "welcome" or "introduction" .
threads have we had here where the new member disappears within a day or so, never to post again?

Not in the least but thanks for the offer... I had all the bound volumes from 1950 through 2000 plus tons of other crappy literature that I put in the trash can, it took several pickup days to get rid of all of it...the day I dumped the bound volumes I watched from my window as it took two trash collectors to lift the can to the hook that raises it to be dumped into the trash truck

I have permission from the author of this to post it here...I think it's right on!
Here is my translation of the DC Resolution:
1. Keep on insisting that these are the times of the end even though
everyone inside and outside of the religion has noticed how unlikely that
is.
2. Cut out that thinking of what else you might do with your life if
you weren't trapped in the JW cult.
3. We are aware that it's getting harder and harder to find other JWs
that you can stand enough to make sole social contacts. The only young
people are other 'born-ins', and those with mental issues who were
contacted via Watchtowers left in the bus station.
4. Quit it with those "Workplace Giveaway" turkey dinners in November,
"Family Gift Days" in December, and convenient shopping sprees
coincidentally arranged for the day after someone's birthday. We know what
you're up to!
5. It doesn't matter if someone is NICE. If they're not JW, they're not
good enough. Being "just Christian" has never been good enough for the
JWs, and don't you forget it.
6. How dare you sneak around voting or writing to your state
representatives in hope of getting health care and affordable housing??
7. Leave that Internet alone, and stop going out getting plastered in
order to drown out the doubt that plagues you 24-7.
They always announce this stuff like it's going to be big news. Sounds
like the same ol' crapola, this time with a very noticeable tinge of
fear. Bottom line: pretend that king is fully clothed and train up your
boy to do the same. Poor things. I wonder what percentage really
believe, and what percentage simply feels trapped.Suzy

Another lawsuit... this one in Oregon.
by Elsewhere incomplaint: negligence, breach of confidential relationship, intentional infliction of severe emotional distress.
once again the elders appointed a convicted and confessed child molester to a position of responsibility as an officer and ministerial servant of the congregation.
this time the accused name is jerry anderson crabb of the lancaster congregation of jehovah's witnesses - 4795 macleay road se, salem, or 97301. sadly, as one would expect, he has been accused of sexually abusing a child on multiple occasions.

I worked in a daycare center for several years, I had to be fingerprinted and have a complete background check done before I was hired and I had to redo the background check every two years...it should be no less for anyone who has a position of authority over children...we certainly know JW children are taught to obey the elders!

YOUR LAST MEETING.........................
by vitty in........................at my last meeting, the elder was talking about 1975 and said "it never happened, it is appostates using a time when (some) brothers took the info in the wt wrong"...................i just blinked and finally woke up.. i had been on this site lurking for a couple of weeks, and realized thing werent right, but to have some creep say on the platform " it didnt happen"............when this ruined my and my siblings childhood, just made me snap.
on the way home, i told my hubby "that was the last meeting im going to"................boy was he pleased.. .
so if you didnt get df ......................what happened at your last meeting.?.

I don't remember the exact date but it was spring of 2001, I had begun to miss quite a few meetings and was already visiting sites of ex-jw's but I do remember it was a Sunday meeting and I had to fight with myself just to sit there and listen to what I knew were all lies...my husband worked in the literature room so I could never leave right away...that day not one person approached me to talk after the meeting which never happened before I became irregular at meetings, I walked up to a group of my
friends'sisters' and they all just ignored me so I just sat down in my seat until my husband was ready to leave and vowed to never return and I haven't and never will. -

Thanks for all your hard work and preparation of these articles Blondie, I look forward to them each week, and enjoy them much more than I ever did sitting through the watchtower study at the kingdom hall.

Dave: Oh, yeah. I meant, um, other than the prominently-displayed email link on his profile, I didn't see any way to contact him. (Do I need bifocals?)
Thanks, Grammy!
Grammy: oops, sorry about that Dave my bifocals are smudged...
