  back when i was a boy in the 1950s many men wore hats and so did my father.. one evening at the kh he was called in to the backroom by the elders for a 'meeting after the meeting',.

  his crime?

  he had been seen raising his hat when greeting women!!!!.

  So, in other words, she'd be encouraged to divorce me?

  I have tried getting her to go here in a round about way... We are currently broken up, but I was just wondering if she decides that to be apart is too much to bare and she decides to be with me, even though she's already been reprimanded by the elders for seeing me, will she in a sense be choosing to disassociate herself by choosing to be with me???

  Also, if she disassociates herself by her actions or if she is disfellowshipped, is it possible to go back to being an active JW and still be married to me?

  Under any circumstance, would she be allowed to continuing being a JW?
  
  I'm not talking about someone who marries a JW and then one spouse leaves. I mean knowingly entering marriage with a "wordly" person....
  
  I'd especially like to hear what some Elders or ex-Elders say about this. What would the discipline be?

  I thought blasphemy was essentially taking something holy and defiling or debasing it.... Such as taking the being of the Holy Spirit and making him into nothing more than the electricity like power from God...who's commiting the unforgiveable sin?

  wow...i'm impressed with you guys and gals!. I've never been a JW but i'm overwhelmed by your personal strength to walk away from something that has so much hold over your family and friends. I wonder if I would have that strength...

  it seems as though many people come to this board and leave in a short space of time.. it's a pity.. there are people on this board who are very nice and polite even when discussing various views.

  this leads to understanding and concern.

  i would like to meet you people.. please post in here.. i term nice as being kind, not cursing, love for god almighty, thrives on the right things in life, not hurting other's feelings, etc.. blessed star

  Use of [Brackets] in the NWT......

  in the introduction to the nwt with references edition it is stated on page 7 - under the subheading "the translation into english" - "brackets: single brackets [ ] enclose words inserted to complete the sense in english text.

  many of these 'insertions' change the entire doctrinal view, as we have seen discussed before.

  since the nwt is not an accuarate translation, and has been used to indoctrinate members with biased views that harmonize with the wts doctrine anyway, i was thinking it might be good for them to make a few momentous changes that would eliminate the need to even bother publishing articles in the watchtower that bends and twists these scriptures to fit.
