WT desparate: Aug 15 WT- In Our Next Issue: When A Loved One Leaves Jehovah
by truthseeker inno, i don't have this article yet, it will appear in the sep 1, 2006 wt.
it may even be a wt study article.. in the august 15 watchtower, the box "in our next issue" has three forthcoming articles, and one of them is "when a loved one leaves jehovah".
of interest, it's not when a loved one leaves the society, it's jehovah.. will keep you posted.

HELP!! ADVICE....Saying NO to pioneering
by Kristofer ini have a female friend who i've been discussing the religion with.
she definitely has doubts about the org but isn't sure on leaving just yet as she has still got about 6 months to go being a minor dependent on the parents.
lately, she's been getting heavy pressure to start pioneering.

Thank you for the advice everyone. She has been reading all your responses. It seems like a tough situation to be in, regardless. She's been lurking on this site for a bit. If anyone comes up with any other good ideas, know that it will help her a great deal...

Lately, she's been getting heavy pressure to start pioneering.
She really doesn't want to pioneer but isn't sure how to tell the Elders and was wondering if she could get disfellowshipped for doing so...
Does anyone have advice on how to respond to the Elders without brining on the heat?
Could she be disfellowshipped? -

My thoughts today
by purplesofa inas i get myself ready to go to work today.
i was a housewife for 10 years.........and now have worked the better of 18 years......... there is still hardly a day that goes by where i don't long to be home.
i would never be bored, i could find endless things to do.. do men still look for wives that would be, or need a woman "full-time"?

I am actually looking for a gal like this.. People say I should have been born in the 30's... I'm not saying I want a slave at home...I would help as well and wouldn't mind if she worked part-time to make a few extra bucks. But living in LA, finding a woman who knows how to do things around the house is like finding a unicorn. But like the previous post said, today's expensive cost of living doesn't really allow for that arrangement. Now you have both parents working and children being raised by babysitters and Day Care.

What makes a chick crazy?
by serendipity ini've heard of men over the years complain about crazy chicks, but they don't always explain.
so here's the chance:.
what makes a girl/women crazy or psycho in your eyes?

Vindictive, Obsessive, Violent = Crazy Chick
My first girlfriend, whenever she got her feelings hurt, which seemed to be the easiest thing in the world to do, rather than talk about how she was feeling, she rather hurt me by being verbally abusive.
Trust me, no matter what I'd say..the cup was ALWAYS half empty... She'd take the sweetest thing I could say and find something wrong with it...
Another girl I dated was completely obsessive wanting to carry around a snippet of my hair in this necklace around her neck...kinda...freaked me out..
Another ex (party girl)...everytime she would drink, she would get violent and incoherent. We tried making rules, which I now realize was ridiculous but it never worked. One drop of alcohol and my evening was a nightmare. It eventually ended when I told her I couldn't go on like this and that I was ending things. She proceeded to attack me in front of her house, throw blows at my head and jump on my car and kick the shit out of it as I tried to drive away. Yeah, those dents in my car to this day remind me to watch for the early red flags of THE CRAZY CHICK -

Jehovah's Witnesses Rebuttal to the U.N.-DPI NGO Affair
by Kenneson ini don't know if this was discussed before; i don't recall seeing this site until today when someone brought it to my attention.
how would you answer the jehovah's witness comments (especially the one comparing the library card to a white house press pass)?
other observations?

Church Fathers Purposely Lied about Jesus
by gumby injosephus as most know, was a jewish/roman 1st century historian.
he was well respected by the roman community and christians were zealous readers of his works.. he is one person christians use as a solid basis for proof of jesus earthly existence.
here is a quote that is used by some christians who strongly believe these words came from the hand of josephus himself,"now, there was about this time, jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure.

How interesting...there are more writings on Jesus than there are on Plato, Socrates, Bhudda, and Genghis Kahn. THe writings by any historians examination are also more valid given the time and consistency of their writings.
Yet no one denies the existence of these other historical people. Yet no one else has had more of an impact on the world......Hmm...some people just will do anything to NOT believe.
Did Peter exist? Did Paul exist? Did any of the apostles exist? Or are they all just made up peoples too?
You've got a lot of balls to be crucified upside down for someone that doesn't exist...but of course that's just a fable too, right? Fables gave way to fables until people were willing to be burned alive and torn apart by lions for them, right?
I know you REALLY don't want to believe gumster..but c'mon, let's be a bit reasonable. -

I think I did something very "sick" and embarassing
by kristyann inokay... so i am super embarassed once again.
this time what happened is too embarassing to share, i think.
most people would probably tell me i am gross, too, and most of you would probably not even want to hear it so i guess that i am better off not sharing it here.

i honestly don't think that would be their reaction. If you were my guest I'd feel bad for you and I'd probably even call you to break the ice about it if you leaked a little... If anyone is annoyed by this...then their just idiots... DOn't feel bad. I've had similar situations happen like this with other girls I know... And for some reason...is it just me? or am I the only one that's not disgusted by it?
