  Kia or Hyundai?

  kia spectra 5 or hyundai elantra gt hatchback?

  any experience with either of these cars?

  they both drive great and are much more affordable than the honda and toyotas.

  Korean Vehicles are cheaply made, which is reflected in both the price and the quality.

  most independent consumer reports rank kia as the poorest quality vehicle, whereas Lexus is the top rated vehicle for quality. Toyota follows after.

  Yes, you get a good deal on a vehicle, but if you keep it past the warranty, you'll spend all that saved money on repair work and headaches.

  If you trade it every 3-4 years, then I say go for it. If you get a junker from them(as most of them are) you'll still have the warranty, or Lemon Law to fall back on.

  When at the convention ; Top reasons for going

  i was thinking about this the other day, and wondering what others felt about the district convention.

  namely, what was the main thing you wanted from it?

  a few i remember were these.. 1. number one every single year was that i wanted new information on when armageddon was coming and how close we were to the end.

  When I was young, it was all about the swimming pool. After the convention, and dinner, our next stop was the hotel swimming pool where the rest of the evening would be spent.

  As I became older, it was all about the girls. With binoculars, pen and paper in hand, it was time to go on the hunt!

  Taking pictures of the Drama's at Assemblies

  "brothers and sisters....please....no taking pictures during the drama.

  the flash from the cameras disturb those trying to be attentive to the program...so please, no flashbulbs!

  ...* drama begins and the lights go dim* .

  so the bored brothers didn't try and put their hands up their wives dresses when the light went off.

  Hey, don't forget about the bored sisters grabbing their man's crotch! I had a g/f that did that at the convention. Now that was a convention, I'll never forget!

  Odd Announcement at District Convention

  when i was at the latest district convention a few weeks ago there was an odd announcement made.

  i don't remember it very clearly, but it was something about noah and how he knew what rain was and that it must have rained before the flood because of that.

  also, there was something mentioned about the water canopy and how 'our' understanding of it may not be right.

  sounds like a strange announcement.

  I've yet to attend, however I always hated that water canopy 'theory'

  I'm no expert, but a water canopy of some type would be like a sauna, the heat would be trapped at the earth's surface by this overhead

  water canopy and all life would soon perish.

  I hope they finally walk away from the stupid water canopy crap. I believe there's is one 'public talk' outline given at the kingdom halls

  that talks about noah's flood and the water canopy. I guess maybe they'll have to drop that one.

  convention association

  i havent been to a convention since..................99?

  the last few i went to i remember a lot of people commenting on how hard it was to visit with other witnesses.

  a lot of people were disgruntled and irritated about it.. the convention doors didnt open till about an hour before the session started... so you had time to find your seat and get your kids settled.. no time to visit others... also our seats were assigned.. we were told to sit with our congregation in a specific section that we were assigned to clean.. so we were just around our regular congregation.

  i don't know if any one else here has made this observance but..... today as i was running errands around town i noticed quite a few witnesses out in the ministry.

  on a thursday, no less, but it wasn't that they were at peoples doors.

  they were all just driving around.

  99% of Witnesses, though, are just watching the clock and dragging their feet like 20 year Teamsters.

  Very much like Teamsters union, without the benefits though.
