  today at the kh my brother gave the pt.

  he said that while jesus was praying to god just before his arrest he was praying that he die in a different situation.

  hmm that's a new one to me.

  In the past it was always taught that Jesus was under a lot of stress and anxiety regarding his impending death and was praying to jehovah about it. There was a point about how

  someone can sweat blood if they are under enough stress. I believe this was mentioned in the bible too.

  There was no mention about wanting to die in a different manner. I might be wrong, but I think jesus just didn't want to die at all and was stressed out, but ultimately

  submitted to jehovah's will while praying to him.

  So they're jumping on the tom cruise bandwagon(couch) now, in regards to denouncing mental health care? What a crock of sh*t.

  I can't even recall the last public talk I attended, though it seems their topics are getting worse.

  I definitely loved that guy. He definitely did some VERY risky things but I enjoyed his respect and attitude towards wildlife.

  going from one religion to another

  as a former jehovah's witness have you been enticed to consider another religion perhaps, seeking to find "the truth" ?

  "Now this is what a book inspired by god would really be like! Short, succinct, clear, profound and no doctrine or dogma." Yet the Tao Te Ching doesn't claim to be sacred or god-inspired - just the writings of a wise old man, or a few wise old men.

  Good point, if there were a god, he could easily sum up his purpose and intent in just a few paragraphs.

  As far as my personal view, I do hope that the WT does actually prophesy correctly that 'babylon the great' does fall and that all religion ceases to exist.

  I don't for a second believe that people need religious organizations. In reality, religion causes much death and destruction, so I hope that one day

  religions are done away with.

  For me, I've come to the conclusion that I'm agnostic. I can't prove there is or isn't a god. Therefore religion is out of my life. I'm open to the idea of there

  being a god, but until he/she/it presents itself/themselves then I prefer living a life as I see fit and not being fearful of something I can't see or prove.

  thanks, dantheman, that video is good. I was a kid in the eighties and nineties so rock was my thing.

  It does prove that JWs are not the only ones that use "Jehovah" in their worship like the WTS would like to claim.

  Not that it will change any j-dubs thinking process. I recall riding in the car with my mom and we passed a church that used Jehovah in the title of the church.

  I asked mom if they would survive armaggedon,, she stated "not unless they start going to the kingdom hall"

  well, i just got back back from my first visit to toronto and i must say, all the canadians i met were attractive, friendly articulate inviduals.

  as for the sights: i had a great time visiting the hockey hall of fame, cn tower, casa loma, kensington market, cafe diplamattico, the harborfront and that beautiful bar at the top of the park hyatt with the beautiful view of the night skyline.

  you ontarians know how to do it up right!

  I also would love to trek to yellow knife and the Yukon to see the Northern lights. Has anyone ever done that? Yep,, drove from the midwest to alaska. The Yukon was beautiful. The northern lights are the most amazing things I've seen so far in my life. That was about 10 years ago, I'm ready to take another driving trip through canada, and on to alaska again. And yes, the people there are very nice. While on my way through cananda, I met someone that let me stay with his family for the night. Same thing hapaned in alaska too.

  One of my relatives was caught gambling shortly after being baptised. She claimed she did not know it was wrong so they annulled her baptism and then rebaptised her. lol. what a crazy legalistic religion.

  WTF? Does that mean I can annul my baptism? I won't be holding my breath,, I already know the answer. What a stupid religion.

  well, she wasn't "gambling".... SHE wouldn't have lost anything, but you might have.... (hehe) Deniel...works for so many.... that's the same logic that makes it ok to turn in a winning lottery ticket that you 'found' My bro in law and his friend claimed to have found a winning lottery ticket,, they called an elder, who said that it's ok, as they only found it, and did not buy it themselves. Personally, I don't believe for a second that they found it,, I think they bought it and just wanted to cover their butt in regards to where this newfound money came from.
