Raised in the 'troof' baptized @(hmm I'm not telling!) inactive for 7 years. And here's the best part,, my family thinks I'm active!
sigh. it's nice living far away from the family.
but it's not so nice I'll be going to the convention this year.
.
how old were you when you became a jw, how long were you a member, and how long has it been since you left?
i'm sure there have been posts on here before but with all the new people showing up day by day i thought it might be help them to see that even the most hardcore jw can recover and be happy.. i was born into the religion, unbaptized publisher at 11, never baptized, left at 18, been out for 2 years and 5 months.

it's curtains for the watchtower.
they have finally published what many of us here have known for a long time.
the july 15, 2006 watchtower has three study articles, the second one will be of intense interest.
From what I've been told, It seemed like 1000 hours a month. I'm glad I never took part in that nonsense.

Very interesting WT articles lately.
I think there's no doubt that information and the WT's lack of control of said information is their achilles heal.
The WT may win a few battles, such as DF'ing a member, here and a member there, but in the long run, our consistent effort to inform people will win this war.
If the WT did indeed have the truth, then they should be willing to get on their 'soapbox' and allow question after question from unbelievers. If it were the truth
then it would withstand any type of critical thinking or questioning of doctrines.
But we are no longer fooled. The WT is afraid.. so very afraid. They see the proverbial 'writing on the wall'
I'm comfortable knowing we lose a few battles here and there, but I'm comfident, we will win this war!
alcoholism, CFS, depression, gluttony. These were the most common among the congregation I was raised in. As for the others I've been to, I never spent enough time in each
to determine the health status.
i know about 2000 jws in sydney, and have 50 that are tax clients, so barely a week goes by without bumping into someone i know.
it seems that few of them realise that i am disfellowshipped because they talk freely to me.
last week i accidently sat next to an elder on the train and we engaged in small talk for over 30 minutes.. should i admit to these people that i am not a jw?.
As mentioned before, don't play by their pharisaic rules. You haven't changed, so why should you encourage their stupid rule to change the way they treat you?
Just keep it friendly and when they do find out you're this big, bad, horrible apostate, then they will think to themselves. Hmm he seems so happy? I thought he
was supposed to be miserable for leaving the 'truth'(TM)
truthseeker posted the following quote, here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/114458/2002789/post.ashx#2002789.
i attempted to verify the quote by referring to the society's library, which i possess.
in fact i posess the 1997, 2004, and 2005 libraries.
as well as the infamous "girls are cows" article and other "nonsense".
Ok, do tell, I gotta hear about that one.
has anyone had feelings or experiences on the field where what happened seemed only to be from one source - divine?
Welcome Deadwood!
Hope to hear more from ya.

Shall I ask the obvious question?
here's a virtual meeting to show someone what a jw meeting is like without the "love bombing", but all the jehoba this, and jehoba that, prayers, horrible out of tune mono-tone singing?, and a visit from the co giving the dedication talk/prayer... .
the co point's out that a kingdumb hall is only a kingdumb hall if there is a sign out in front stating so... and that if the kingdumb hall was sold it doesn't come with the sign...
(wtf?
HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made it through the song and had to quit.
