tonight i had a call from one of my daughters (16) who is not a jw.

so she could go and attend a funeral.
But at one time it was a Kingdom Hall. Sometimes you just can't win.

I must say that I'm surprised at how many were making sly comments about wanting to find out or learn more info about when armaggedon will occur.
To me it was like they were poking fun at their own religion? Seemed strange to me.

often i wonder what i would be doing or even where would i be living, if i would have never met the jw's back in the late 80's.. maybe it wouldn't have made any difference, or on the contrary, maybe a huge difference.
the only way to really know would be to go back in time and change what happened and that's impossible.. .

i can't help thinking now that without any predictions for the end, the bad history of the society and the things its done in peoples lives, which will surely continue without it radically changing and become like every other religion (which wont happen) that the society is going to just keep shrinking.. firstly, the internet is an effective means of getting the real truth out at people.
the society have tried to stop the witnesses having the independent spirit e.t.c all this must be getting very boring and making the average dub tired and if not, its sure to.. i spoke to my mum and i made the point that there is no real joy at the kingdom hall or any means to express it.. she said "well, people are under a lot of stress" and i noted how concerned she looked about that.. your thoughts?

early sunday morning, around 1:30 a.m., my wife wakes me and says that she can't sleep and needs to talk with me.

i was hurt, but not shocked, because our relationship is not that close at this point after 14 yrs of marriage.
My advice? Make her do all the work. Make her find the lawyer, find a place for you to live, pay for the movers, file the divorce papers.
Definitely get an attorney before she does. YOU need to know your rights and be prepared for the worst. There are kids involved, and possibly assets?
If she does all the legwork. well.. you won't have the kids, and you'll owe her vaginamony plus child support.

a lot has been said lately about bethel downsizing and here is what i believe the true story is.. watch where the money is and where it goes.
a lot of large company's now are doing two things to maximise profits and bolster the bottom line.. downsizing the amount of people they did gives them extra money and real estate space (yes people are a liability even when small) and the potential to flip real estate in nyc.
the second stage is outsourcing jobs...think it can't happen??
but of course it would have to have twice a s many study articles per magazine so it will be able to go for 4 meetings
but on the other hand,, if they can get an hour study out of material that can be studied and reviewed in 15 minutes, then I'm sure they could make 1 WT work over a 4 week period.
I don't think they'd go to one WT either, but imagine how the dubs would react if they did.
