I'd take a flying leap off the nearest cliff to see if my 'perfect' body could survive the impact. If the first fall didn't kill me, then I'd just keep on jumping till it did.

IF they were right
by KW13 inimagine you woke up in a paradise earth that was inhabited by jehovahs witnesses.
what would your reaction be?
personally i'd feel sick (if my perfect body would allow that lol) as eternity stuck with them, would be worse than hell.

Stephen King event at the convention...
by Justice-One inthis really had a wierd feel to it.
at the convention last weekend, i was still walking around in the hallway when the prayer started.
everyone came to a standstill, and bowed their head like good little jw automatons.

Convention badges worn at Wal-Mart
by purplesofa inlast night i was at wal-mart with a friend of mine.. as we were going in .......i saw a group of people with convention badges on.
they seemed out of place on a sat evening, dressed in suits and christian attire.. i could not help but think that they just had two days of their spiritual feeding and the superior feeling that comes over jw's at that time.
the leaving of the convention out into the world.. here i was, feeling "worldly" .......i felt a tinge of guilt go through me for not being at the convention.

I never did wear a badge.
I was embarassed to be seen with those that did wear a badge, so there was no way I would ever put one on myself.

I recall an elder's reaction prior to the first invasion of Iraq by the US. He was excited about the possibility of major war breaking out and proclaiming that the 'new system'
will be here soon. He was clapping his hands, and pumping his fist, no different that had he been at a ball game. I just watched him in disbelief, thinking that he is cheering for the
violence and death that would occur during 'desert storm' war.

I heard them say not to search for JW on the internet, so that's the first thing I did. I remember, when I first found this site, probably around '01 or '02
I read through all the highlights, then kind of forgot about the site until this year, and then I signed up.

What is all this about Smurfs?
by Stealth453 in.
i have been out a long time, and i have recently noticed a lot of you making mention of smurfs.. obviously, i have missed something.
has the watchliar sociopath society "demonized" smurfs somewhere along the line.. reminds me of the old fear of paintings of clowns, with big eyes, that made the rounds back in the late 60's, early 70's.

my father heard this 'wonderful' poem from the platform in a talk given by the c.o.
got a copy and 'accidently' left it lying around .

Another example of putting all the blame on the individual that voices concerns about what they see among the j-dubs.

religious contentious objectors
by drew sagan inone of the 'major' points jws will come back at you with is that they alone are the only religion that teaches people shouldn't go to war.
off the top of my head i know that many followers in the 'church of christ' movement have held to this view, does anybody have a list of religions that teach this to their members?
sometimes just opening people up out of the witness bubble by presenting evidence that is conrtary to what they believe to be true is very helpful.

On a similiar note, my sister was shocked when I explained to her that many other religions take part in preaching activities. She thought that only J-dubs went preaching.
