If you r no longer a jw and other jws are suppose to shun you now , were do they get that from does it say in the bible to do that if not is there some scriptures that dont directly say it but they believe say it.

Hi
Firstly i'd just like to say thanx to everyone. I have been doing so much research on the jws but its mainly just reading different things on the internet its good to be able to post what i got to say and have a few of you answer my questions and not just rely on jws for the answers. Someone mentioned about there being other churches that have bible studies well for me thats not possible i live in a mining town in the middle of nowhere with no churches or anything like that, the only reason that the jws come here is because one of them lives in my town. So i hope none of you mind me trying to get answers from you as i really cant ask anyone else or go to any other churches. If anyone doesnt mind can anyone tell me any info about how the figure a day isnt a normal day like we think. Also how do they get that jesus is michael and is he the only angel to be called archangel. thanx

I guess what it is with me is the jws know i dont know a whole lot about the bible so when i ask questions they show me the scriptures that lead me to believe what they say cause im not going to be able to go on no thats wrong this says otherwise. Another thing is i dont know anyone that has bible knowledge so im left with them to explain it to me, when they come around to teach me things i dont have back up only what i read of the internet which isnt much and they getaround it

Jgnat .......she told me that westcott and hort were the ones that translated there bible but when i read were it says that it is actually talking about the kingdom interlinear translation......A BIBLE THEY NO LONGER USE so i will definately have to get on to her about that. As for the catholics saying that there bible was the most accurate to date i looked into that on my own and found out that the catholics said it about the revised standard version...........ANOTHER BIBLE THEY NO LONGER USE

If the jws bible is translated inaccuratly can they have it published isnt there some like bible board or something that has to proof it surely they cant just do it themselves. How does it all work for example could i if i study greek and hebrew go and translate a bible and make copies and hand it out.

DEDPOET............ are you serious i would have to break ties with my family because they are non jws and my step father because he is a ex jw. I havent heard that when talking to them ,all its been is we got to have love and god knows my heart. That cant be right a couple of them i know are married to non jw some for over 20 years they said that their partners come under them so wouldnt my family come under me even if they choose not to be jws. Them being jws saves their partners at armageddon.

Thank you yesidid for the advice. Its good that there are some people out there willing to help me out. I have written emails to other religions with no reply that was over a month ago so the only info i have been able to get is from the jws and now on here. I recently asked a jw about all the mistakes they have made and i said to her isnt that false prophecy and she said that there is no such thing as false prophecy now, that was only meant for the time when the bible was being done and once it was finished so was false prophecies and now when they get things wrong and change them its new light. One thing she said to me was when the apostles were with jesus they even got things wrong so if people that were that close with jesus got things wrong then so can the jws. It kinda sounded good to me but at the same time i have little knowledge of that so i ask anyone is that true did that happen and whats your take on false prophecy. thanx

Another thing i been hearing from people is the rules that jws have once you join but how do you find them out before hand, they only seem to tell you the ones that are clearly stated in the bible what god doesnt want you to do. I WANT TO KNOW THEIRS!!!

Im a newbie and i am definately not going to make the mistake of letting you know. My name is Kerri and i am 24 and live in Australia. Ok i am all new to the whole religion thing and for the passed year have been learning stuff from the jws and no matter what questions that i have they seem to have a great answer for everything and its so hard for me to know whats right when i read things that other people say are wrong about them. One thing i asked the jw's is is there bible translation wrong..... of course they said no and told me that all bibles get approved from some bible board thingy and also that the catholics said there bible is the most accurate translation to date. Its hard for me not having the knowledge that other people have but at the same time i dont want to be involved with them if they are a cult or giving me wrong info, also i cant seem to find any proof of them doing so but something inside says get more info. Can anyone help me?
