Why is there evil
by d0rkyd00d indon't know if this has been touched on before, but where did evil originate?
yes, some may answer satan.
but think about this: god created all things, and god is perfect.

My question to you pom is where does the Bible mention ANYTHING about the troubles in heaven being represented through animals? I'm not saying it's a bad theory, but I don't know where you made the connection using scriptures. Also, i agree with the post saying without bad we wouldn't appreciate the good. I've often thought about that, so kudos, i agree totally. I always worried about not feeling sadness on paradise earth, because it is an emotion I like, maybe just because it is an EMOTION, one not dealing with perfection. I need to be sad sometimes.\
Speaking of concrete evidence, I'd also like to mention something I learned in my AP Language class. You cannot prove a fact. You can only prove your perception of truth. Prove the fact God exists; to be honest, you can't, which is why the "fact" of God existing will never be strong. Have i gone far enough off on a tangent here? :-)

This theory of God created animals with violent tendencies to represent what was going on in heaven is an interesting one to me. Where is your biblical basis for even starting to believe this?

Matthew Makes Another Error
by JosephAlward inthe 1 chronicles author lists the descendents of david; some of these, in order, are jehoshaphat, jehoram, ahaziah, joash, amaziah, azariah, jotham, ahaz, hezekiah, manasseh (1 chronicles 3:10-13 niv).
the matthew author contradicts this genealogy; he leaves out the four consecutive descendents underlined above, and in their place puts uzziah, who he says is jehorams son.
(matthew 1:8-10 niv).

Thanks for the welcome backs. :) I think the topic kinda got off track for some of you though. I'm not completely oblivious, i do know that evil exists. I'm wondering why a perfect being who's creation was originally perfect could be flawed in that they had even the potential of going from good to bad, like Satan did. Satan was a perfect angel, incapable of hate, just as God is. So how'd Satan even have the emotional capacity for jealousy or greed if God knew no such things, therefore being unable to create anything with these emotions? Or is God so powerful that he creates things not knowing their full capabilities? Or can God make a rock so big that he can't pick it up? Wait a second......

not to jump in on this, cuz i'm completely unedumucated when it comes to the Bible chat, but pom just used a technique used by jehovah's witnesses every watchtower, book, tract, etc. Simply pick apart, sentence by sentence, whatever something says, instead of looking at the whole picture. Witnesses like picking part of a scripture that fits whatever they hell they are talking about, and smackin it down in a book to prove they are right. However, ur missing the bigger picture pom.
Why would God yearn for the attention and worship of a bunch of sinners? I would be content as the greatest being in the universe if my creation loved me, i wouldn't give a rat's ass if they worshipped me. If i gave them the right to free thought, i woudn't punish them for using it. what was the point of giving it to them in the first place? It's people who pick and tug at the bible who make it what they want it to be that are the real sinners, distorting "God's word". Seriously pom, get a life. Already have one? Get a refund. Cuz your monkey busines is getting kinda boring. You have no arguments. You change the subject when you are cornered. give it up already.

Don't know if this has been touched on before, but where did evil originate? Yes, some may answer Satan. But think about this: God created all things, and god is perfect. Why would his creation be imperfect if God is perfect? And how did any sort of evil tendency reside inside of an angel, if God knows no such thing as evil. He wouldn't have the ability to create something with even the slightest tendency to be evil, would he?

Sex is bad...violence is GOOd. :)
by d0rkyd00d injoelbear brought up a point about something on the sex forum that i've been thinking about for a while, and i'm wondering what the answer to my question is.
dunno if this should be on the relationships forum, but here it is anyways.
why is it such a no-no for kids like myself (i'm 16) to see sex, yet so acceptable for us to see violent movies?

I guess alcohol would fall into this category as well. In other countries, where there really isn't a big deal about drinking young, there are less alcohol related fatalities.
