Christians not knowing the Bible
by Viviane inlast night a young man in a bar struck up a conversation with me.
our town is having our pride parade soon and he brought it up, the bible and how it's against the bible.
me being me, i said that i couldn't care less that it was against the bible and that it was a horrible guide for morality anyway.

Who or What is the Holy Spirit?
by FusionTheism intradition within christianity has long been that any time the phrases holy spirit, holy ghost, or spirit of godare used in the bible (especially in the new testament), it always refers to the mysterious third divine person of the trinity, who is fully god, co-equal to the father and son, yet somehow distinct.. i want to present a simplified alternative view: let the context determine the meaning!.
(one thing to keep in mind is that the meaning of the bible words used for spirit basically is unseen force or invisible presence.).
the holy spirit as the mind and personality of god.

Problems with Common Atheist Arguments
by FusionTheism inthe reason i entitled this "problems with common atheist arguments" instead of "the case against atheism" is that many atheists claim that atheism is not a belief system, makes no claims, and has no requirements to follow, so there's no way to argue against atheism itself.
i will go along with this idea, and argue against the most frequently used arguments of atheists instead of atheism itself.disclaimer # 1: this is not an argument against atheism or all atheists.
no, rather this is an argument against the most frequently used claims and arguments made by the atheists i speak to on twitter.

Speaking of torture HMTM...
The bible is like a prisoner... the more you torture it, its going to tell you what you want to hear.

its religion in general all the same recycled hate
Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

The moment Critical thinking and Bible/Religion mix/collide, the conversation is a lost cause. -

Can anyone explain to me how it is a great display of critical thinking NOT to criticize religion/bible for what they are? Why can we not have the balls to call nonsense, nonsense?
I would not take moral and life advice from Jeffery Dalmer... oops should I have not said that? Is that not using critical thinking? Would we be criticized for disliking someone who condones slavery? Or be told that we are not using critical thinking for having the gumption to say, thats wrong?
I am sure the church leaders who once would torture and murder fellow humans for not believing the earth was flat and the center of the universe felt that those pesky people just hated religion.
Give me a break
