Labeling one self "Atheist" is Unscientific
by LAWHFol ini have not meet all atheists, and it would be foolish for me to assume that all atheists, share the same prototypical view points.
i am inclined to feel that this classifies the views of a large percentage of atheists.
"atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.

Absolutely. But that's because its utterly ridiculous lol
i feel like I'm taking cray pills over here.
You guys spend too much time on wikipedia reading fallacy definitions, I think they serve a fantastic purpose but are abused in these atheist bashing threads.
So if I use a fallacy to mock you for believing in fairies does that make them real because i used a fallacy????

Yep, and as we've progressed, if some maniac came to us to debate fairy existence, we don't debate with them, we just tell them to seek help, the god debate will likely be the same in a few decades. I like the fairy analogy, there is nothing to say one day the folklore of GOD will go the way of the fairy. -

Their presentation of this situation and other recent ones we've seen show this very positive, healthy exjw. Young couples who were not fringe but striving for pioneering etc. While they mention the shortfalls of the society, they seem to still be focused on positive growth. Great example of level headedness. -

Semantics aside at some point with fallacy and all you have to say, fairies don't make sense. Not only do they not exist (which I cannot prove) it is ridiculous to believe in them
The involvement of a "creator" and his affects on humans, and their earth, and the ideas that we are at the center of the universe have slowly been chipped away, not by people who were looking for GOD, but people trying to understand the physical universe around them, rationally, not in fairy land. God gets further and further away, more and more a small idea to put responsibility to the beginning of the physical universe and nothing more.
We used to look up and see a comet and say the gods were riding by and bringing some natural disasters... the people who didn't believe were persecuted for heresy.
Sometimes things just don't make sense, all arguments aside.

Good stuff, I hope more and more young people will have the courage to dig and see what this org is made of.
One of the biggest blocks I see is people that aren't even what you would call "great" witnesses, they just go through motions, and they really really really really love their friends and family. And anything messing with jw threatens that, so its tantamount (in their minds) to threatening their friends and family, because honestly...
If you asked most witnesses "if there were serious and damning things wrong with this religion would you even want to know?" I believe regardless of what they say, many, like my wife, want nothing destroying the dream.

as all these things digress into, a debate about how well everyone debates.
The OP he says he envies anyone who says they are not certain. I don't believe anyone who would be labeled and atheist would be stupid enough to say they are certain there is not (lets not say god) higher intelligence, higher level, responsible party something. None. Atheist are all agnostic technically. But we suggest no higher power, no god, not responsible party, that takes theists to make shit up. No atheist ever said something like gravity is not a physical law of the universe, its zues farting or yhwh pulling strings.
what do you guys wish to accomplish? is there a belief you are trying to promote? or just arguing for the sake of circular arguing? Are you trying to make a case for the abrahamic god? or any other myth? if not then we are all in the same boat.
No one knows and who gives a f%$#. The more we discover the more we chip away at all the supposed actions of your bronze age goat herder god and all the other foundation myths. Science doesn't lead us to god, its been leading us to reason which seems to kill the gods of men.
