  Well hello pumpkin, should you have said in any of the Daniels (plural)? Unless I am mistaken and you know what a slacker I am and I trust you to correct me if I am, weren't there 3 version of Daniel? and the modern bible has the least crazy sounding of the 3?

  Who is any politician since the beginning of politics who fits this vague biblical description that would allow anyone to squeeze any politician they felt into said description as long as it was convenient to their own eisegesis agenda.

  so i got coerced into watching this crap last night.

  1) it personified the witness mantra that doing more for the org = happiness, doing not enough = misery.

  I remember sitting through the drama, and thinking, how does anyone else not see this as blatant biased manipulation??? And I wasn't even awake then.

  You can see through the JW's emotionally charged videos, and there caleb and sofia BS, and made up dramas, how even the stories in the bible were just made up to illicit control in the same way a long time ago

  The ARC gives some good data

  1006 cases not a single one reported, even if the JW policies weren't ask twisted as they were and this still went on, it is a pretty good indication there is a systemic shortfall. The evidence, just in Australia, says yes, they ARE permissive towards pedophiles. How they get there is just little details and semantics (which there are a lot of powerful ones that have come out). But in the end, the victims go through more scrutiny than the abusers.

  what can i learn from that?

  not to accept things at face value but to seek out opinion and different view points.. hence my question " do you believe man landed on the moon?.

  i was raised a witness, baptized at 16, vacation pioneered, got married, etc.

  i was very much your typical witness and believed it was the truth until last summer.

  a very close relative of mine left the witnesses.

  Welcome to the limbo club...

  Your story is very touching, many of us here are going through similar things.

  I was in a pretty good place, but now things are awkward again, I don't think either of us want it to be this way, but this is what religion and cult religion do to relationships and human interaction. They ruin them, or at least strain them.

  I wish i had more positive things to say, but right now I am just on the eve of a massive fight myself and pretty tapped out.
