hi i've been a jw my whole life and i'm 17 now.

i've never had a mine of my own and recently i started thinking more open minded and i know the being a jw isn't for me.

i feel like i've been in a bubble my whole life.

THE HEAVENS—Saying that the various belief systems had a “good run” over the last few millennia but that it was probably time for humans to get by on their own, the Lord Our God, He Who Is Seen And Unseen, proclaimed Monday that He would begin slowly weaning humanity off religion. “Religion was definitely helpful for humans when they first started out, but now it seems like it’s pretty much served its purpose—time to take the training wheels off,” said God, who argued that while the transition from religion might be difficult for a large segment of the population, ultimately humankind would be better off without it in the long run. “It’s not like I’m going to get rid of religion all in one go or anything; I’ll wind it down gradually over the next 500 years or so. so i was fooled by the witnesses.

what can i learn from that?

not to accept things at face value but to seek out opinion and different view points.. hence my question " do you believe man landed on the moon?.

so i ran into this brother whom ive known for a while and the conversation led into me being invited to come back to the kingdom hall.

we talked for about an hour during which time i explained to him 607 being the wrong date and a lot of other stuff including the child abuse cases in australia.

but what i wanted to relate was the last few minutes of our conversation.

Witnesses are conditioned to have an answer to everything (even if it's totally wrong) and for everything (even if it's wrong).

They act as if they accepted the universe as the indifferent place it is with infinite unanswered questions, then being alive sucks. That is sad. Choosing a comforting deferred reality instead of being humble and courageous enough to be otherwise.
