  What woke you up?

  in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

  so what woke me up?

  an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

  Does Good exist?

  either good exist, or has never been, or is dead.

  those are he the three basic premises that we all humans must take a stand to.

  We are godless and the universe us indifferent. When one comes to terms with this then their eyes open. God and religion keep them in the dark. There are good people and bad people. Good eventd and bad. Good and bad happens the universe is indifferent and not picking one overy the other.

  I enjoyed this, in my gut I feel they are undoubtedly real elders, so I hope they are, and like "Steve" said, you can feel something is happening with the org. Its easy to speculate, but the censorship makes it merely a feeling and not vocal.

  In 1876, an article written by Charles Taze Russell was published in the magazine Bible Examiner. That article, “Gentile Times: When Do They End?,” pointed to 1914 as a significant year. The article linked the “seven times” of Daniel’s prophecy with “the appointed times of the nations” spoken of by Jesus.

  What Gentile Times: When Do They End? (1876) said....

  At the commencement of our Christian era, 606 years of this time had passed, (70 years captivity, and 536 from Cyrus to Christ) which deducted from 2520, would show that the seven times will end in A.D. 1914: when Jerusalem shall be delivered forever, and the Jew say of the Deliverer, “Lo, this is our God, we have waited for Him and He will save us.” When Gentile Governments shall have been dashed to pieces; when God shall have poured out of his fury upon the nation, and they acknowledge him King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

  So... it sounds like he didn't say it was "significant", it sounds like he said it was going to be Armageddon to me... But what do i know

  If God exists ....

  if god exists, he must be a god of freedom.

  because he has endowed us with free-will, and never interferes with it (as confirmed by our own experiences).

  that means he wants everyone to make their choice and reap the fruits accordingly.

  I agree with truthseeker100 I love Caleb's insights. While I am without religion and without god, i still appreciate his posts. It shows how the masses have taken Jewish/tradition and religion and constantly tried to hijack it into their own, and also much more than most of it was intended to be.
