first off, i'd like to state that i currently have "privileges" in the congregation and volunteer at bethel on and off throughout the year.

that's as much information as i will currently give about myself.. starting off, i think something big is coming in the form of lawsuits and bad pr.

they seem to be batting down the hatches in preparation for something the last few years and even more so the last few months.

I have wondered if the Nickel contamination could be coming to bite them hard in the ass. Maybe someone (worker) got cancer? Class action lawsuits coming?

sorry for the length of this, i hope anyone stopping by to read will take the time and read it.

i haven't included any things i would consider "apostate" specifics about doctrines, or major scandals.

it's just a general layout of the path i took to becoming an exjw.

Many have asked about the crazy talk from the brother from the GB's hall. Giving away some of the details may give me a way a bit but whatever. And i will do my best to recall everything crazy.

Lets begin.

So for starters this guy was grotesque, which really doesn't matter I guess, but it seemed to go hand in hand with his insanity so I'll say it. He used crutches to get to the stage. His family say in the back row, I was off to the left in the way way back on the isle, so behind them. His wife, sets up a tripod and camera to record his talk. She looked insane as well, some people just give off crazy.

He gets on stage, talk is about to start, as I lean down to put my books under the seat, this clown makes a machine gun sound with his, mouth, into the mic (this was how his talk started) and it was loud, like really really loud, and he starts screaming "allah akbar allah akbar!!!" loud as holy hell. Babies are crying, and everyone is looking around like WTF. Now as strange and mental as that is, when you consider the hall he was giving this part in it was next level. This particular neighborhood

Had a ton of firefighters and police who lost their life during 9/11. In fact one of the elders was in one of the towers and survived.
The neighborhood that was once was not, was not daily becoming more and more occupied by muslim's. Like a lot. And a lot of them from palestine, not the passive ones. Someone in the neighborhood had a license plate that read 'HAMA', needless to say the DMV revoked it after outcry.

So anyway, some of you new yorkers may know where I was, please only address it to me in PM. But these two things alone show that this was not the place for that, no place was, but especially not there.

He said other totally bizarre things, he eluded to himself (in his words) as "sexy".

He also said some misogynistic things about women, i can't remember it all, but the talk was straight crazy and incoherent. The elder body asked him to never return and probably also had some influence in him never giving a talk outside his own hall again. Not the only wacko I met from the GB's hall. All the crazies flocked there to worship the magnificent 7.

Britain Branch Construction - UPDATE

definitely something going in the london bethel.. i thought i'd ask them again (and record it again) what the situation was regarding the new britain branch construction work.. i got the same sister (debbie) and here is how the conversation went: .

me: i've been told that construction of the new branch has been stopped - is this true?.

debbie: no, it has not ceased, it's carrying on as normal - can i ask where you're calling from?.

They are probably getting coached on how to answer in true JW fashion. Ie it hasn't ceased (its just on hold indefinitely).

Its a composite of overlapping construction happening invisibly.....spiritual....

i haven't posted for quite awhile, just usually lurk, but thought surely someone would have noticed this on jw.org.

this was under the article about distractions.

i clicked on the article and below is the "accurate" prediction that the wt made back in 1958. this has to prove they have jehovah's backing, don't you think?

There are more, also some of these building may already be sold just the hand over closing is not for a while, hard to say. I used to know someone intimately involved with the sales, but it wouldn't make any sense for me to speak to them about it now.

One thing I forgot to mention in my OP, also part of my awakening was the international convention in New Jersey. That was the weekend I realized how different the organization was and where it was heading. Giant screens, emotional videos, just the whole feel of it turned my stomach.100 years of kingdom, and there was no magical wonderful feeling there. You hear all these stories of international conventions and how they changed peoples lives, it was just another convention, except outside and hot as holy hell. It was the last disillusion, and nail for me.

Yep. Counting time always felt wrong to me, not even the going out as much as "counting time", like really what is that?

I think it boils down to there being one or two things that get you started. One thing that gives your true self permission to start approaching it rationally. And your right, you can't pick the thing that will do that for someone else. For instance, if years ago someone had told me about the UN debacle, I would have written it off, honestly it would not have got me thinking. For another person, its everything. Its the one thing that opened the door. But once you get started its like having the blinders removed.

Now I sit at a meeting and I have no idea how I ever did this. The sheer amount of nonsense at meetings is staggering to me, but it was always there, but when I walked through those doors my reason turned off and was handed over to an organization. Never again.
