since the move, it has been so enjoyable to not have jw's breathing down our necks asking why we didn't make the meeting, or having to pretend to be "spiritual" in front of family all the time.. 90% of my week is virtually stress free.

then, my mom calls or texts wanting to talk to her grandkids.

every dang call, she asks about the new congregation, if we went to the meeting, etc.. why can't i tell her to fk off?

You may not need to DA. Maybe if you cross that line into WT critic they'll back off out of fear. Or they will push you into DAing. I feel personally it's only a matter of time until I DA. But I still feel the right time for that is in the future. I wouldn't call anyone a coward for their calculated steps with this cult. But if you want to test your courage maybe try this.

The arc is available publicly. Not on apostate sights. As a man with kids, you can say this is very disturbing and you need time to process the watchtower actions and ethics. And during that time because of your concern for your kids and the societies potential danger to children you are sequestering them from influence until you sort it out.

Now they will probably shit their pants, tell you to talk to the elders and so on. But if you get the courage to push them over their cd limit they will leave you alone with out DA. Many people on here who have spoke their mind to the family have been shunned without DAing. Just think about that.

a few weeks ago my deeply indoctrinated father who is a long time elder was wondering why we hadn't been attending meetings, and why my 8 yr old son wasn't on the theocratic school ( sounds like i almost off the hook with that one...lol).

we live in a different state, but i came to find out that one of the elders in our hall called my father, who he never met, to see why our meeting attendance had been so sporadic (i am in my mid-40's, so that knowledge made my blood boil, to put it mildly!

i tried not to answer, but he kept pressuring me, so i brought up the arc and child abuse cases i had heard of in our area.

The theory of God was born out of three things in the past. Ignorance, superstition, and fear. Nothing good comes from those three things. It was founded on nothing more and since then it has done nothing except cause problems. It gives a broad stroke to explaining everything. The mere idea is the enemy of thought discovery and knowledge. A tool of the ignorance. God is a simple, false, stupid idea. There is not only no evidence of God there is no need. It's a outdated superstitious myth.

God is an idea with no purpose. Think about it. 'God' whoever the weak minded believe him to be at that time serves no real function. People used to see a comet and not know what it was so it was so claim *insert supernatural diety here*. You see they filled in what they didn't understand with "god". Humans have outgrown that but people still choose to hold on to this ignorance its sad. You see atoms and gravity etc it's a function and we search to understand and explain it. God is a useless idea theist force into explanation. It's useless! There is no God who gives two shits about you. He is an idea. And not even a good one.

but still there is not god, and the "if's" can't be beliefs, if panspermia, if engineered by another species, if we are a computer hologram, fun exercises in imagination for our brains but they are not fact, they are science FICTION until proven true. You can't take what you don't know, the void , and make it what you want it to be. Doesn't make it true.

Your example of the atom is not good, because as we progress and learn less and less things are accredited to "supernatural" means and discovered to be natural laws. We aren't going to discover 'God' we are discovering away from god. You are using he atom example poorly. That is a great example of not saying god did it, and that is why science progresses. As long as we don't give credit to the J dessert god, or any other incarnation, we keep searching, learning, and growing. 'God' closes minds. It does the opposite of what you imply happened with the atom.

I think of these facts every time I have to sit through a stupid meeting and listen to the elder spewing out to the audience:

The world is so bad, isnt' it, its worse than ever, things get worse and worse, its worse than its ever been before, oh woe is us.

It makes my blood boil because all the R&F are soaking up and believing that dribble.

And if the the justification for there being a god is the complexity and (implied) design found in the universe, how does 'God' himself escape the same justification?

Is he not (supposedly) the most complex, perfect thing in "existence"?

How does this 'God' fellow escape needing a creator himself?

Who built this "Jehovah's" perfect house?

Is your only justification for him not being created is because his bronze age authors say so?

Creationist insist the things they see around them are proof the big J is the creator, so the same should i apply to him, who's his creator?
