Does Anyone Still Believe in God?
by LaurenM indo any of you ex-jw's still believe in god?
even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.
the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.

Prologos, you are alone in the universe, no jehovah looking out for you, waiting to send you to heaven or paradise when you croak, just a big indifferent universe you flying through, no destiny, no plan for you, no moral compass, its all you. -

the opposite of ego centric, you see "God" has a history, and its based in ancient tribal ego maniacs. The god idea of us as creation is arrogance. No, I see the cosmos as an indifferent place. Take earth for example. There have been about what... 5 mass extinctions starting with the first about 400+ millions years ago.
There is no "Plan" centered around us humans. yea we are cool, but to the universe we are just another rock for target practice. The importance of 'God' is inside every insecure human who doesn't want to feel alone and helpless.
It doesn't matter what circles you guys run in, god is founded in myth, fear, ignorance, superstition. Not enlightenment, in fact seems safe to say the mere idea of God retards progress and enlightenment. If you can't see that from human history, your bias is clear. The thing about the atheists is if there was a sound reason for believing god they would say ok, there is a god. But you can show theists there is no sound reason to accept "God" and they refuse to acknowledge. If atheists maintained their godless status in the light of proof of god, yes they would be biased. But such a thing does not exist except in your vivid imagination.

There was no time and space? What the hell did he/she/it occupy? And I am a fan of string theory, I think its hard to say that there is/was nothing before the "big bang". Just because we humans THEEE MOST IMPORTANT CREATURES IN THE UNIVERSE AFTER GOD AND ANGELS happen to occupy this material universe, why does our universe have to be the end all? We think so small and arrogant, and that is how we came up with the stupid idea that is god in the first place.
If the question is are their creatures on a higher level than us humans out there, I believe that is entirely possible and likely, do they have something to do with starting this universe, creating humans, giving us a purpose, or even knowing we exist, well that is a different story. There could be multiple levels of things superior to us, in both make up and consciousness, just like in the physical world of our own planet, why do you have to stop it somewhere and give it undue credit?
Thats like my dog looking at me and thinking (which he probably does) I created the universe for him... I am the highest being, infinitely intelligent , able to walk up right and drive a motor vehicle... I am the supreme being!! When i am just another species in the world, I have caused nothing.

Would Jesus have been disfellowshipped by the "Elders" of his day . . . . . .
by Dunedain ini bet jesus would have been df'd by the "elders" in his day.
lets think about it, jesus hung out with "worldly" people.
his closest friends were known prostitutes, money collectors, men of "prominence" in the world of that day, non "beleivers" of the "faith" like samaritans, and many others that todays "elders" would have deemed "unworthy".. jesus spoke against the "organization" and "elders" of his day.

He was wasn't he? Disfellowshipping was a thing with the Jews at that time, banishing someone from the temple and wasn't he basically banished by the Pharisees?
He disagreed with a self proclaimed "gods chosen earthly organization", he spoke critically of them in public, he taught things against their doctrine, he was the ultimate apostate, and because of it, he was censored, shunned, and eventually murdered.

Prologos and this creator of yours does or doesn't have his own creator?
How far up the chain does it end?
And if it ends with him, how do you come to this conclusion?

I hope the letter about deleting the Theocratic school is true.
by John Aquila inyesterday i was with a group of brothers that wanted my advice on re-roofing a home.
three of them were ministerial servants.
all of them are from the spanish congregation.

You did a good job, you are protected even if it was an elaborate hoax (which I am pretty certain it is not).
You planted a seed.
I still feel there is a "student" part, so I think saying they are doing away with it is a step further than the watchtower will explain. I think the school will just be changing. Because in the letter they used the words "student" I am hesitant to say they are throwing the school away, at least in their perception.
