Very Sad ... Another Terrorist Attack here in the USA ... and not enough guns to defend us
by RubaDub inif only there were more people with guns perhaps some lives would have been saved.. it's a sad state of affairs here in the us when enough people aren't armed when there is an attack.. if someone simply had a gun or was wearing a suicide vest to take the perpetrators out, other lives could have been saved.. rub a dub .

The reality is if it even were possible to ban guns altogether in America this will equate to less gun deaths. In the case of terrorism and deranged rampage killers would it relate to less deaths in general? No one could say. There is no guarantee. It could be less deaths the same or more. Why more? Think of two of the most deadly attacks in America Oklahoma City 168 dead rental van and fertilizer, 9/11 2977 dead because of box cutters. Taking guns doesn't remove the nut jobs or their blood lust. Just a tool. Consider Paris as well, all their gun laws did little to stop them from coming over the boarder. If guns were banned in California does anyone realize how close San Bernardino is to mexico? They could have got them either way. Gun availability in America which is already in the 100's of thousands is an open Pandora's box. California is one of the leaders in America for gun restrictions. Contray to what was said here they don't come in cereal boxes. Please respect those who died at the hand of terrorists. Paris is attacked and everyone changes their pictures to French flags. America is attacked and everyone starts complaining about the country attacked. Get the priorities straight. -

Lot of xenophobic attitudes towards Americans on this board. Saying every American is a gun nut makes you some kind of anti-gun hero, say Islam is a religion of violence and you are a racist. I get the sarcasm but I think it's distasteful and disrespectful to those who died. They were celebrating one moment and murdered the next. It's a tragedy. -

I wish they'd stop with this "self radicalized" nonsense.
I find this very frustrating as well, even Obama is trying to tout it as "mixed motive". I think Paris was considered terrorism pretty damn quick. This however is taking painstaking days to get there and still everyone seems to be holding their breath it will somehow just be a disgruntled worker.
Its an interesting point, when does it become 'Terrorism"? If they were not funded and deployed directly by a group like ISIS does that somehow absolve it from being terrorism? I don't think so. Whatever the religion or political cause, once it is a large network involving a single ideology the act is terrorism in my book.

Monsters like Anders Breivik are few and far between, thank goodness. Plus, there are no white Christian extremist groups currently carving out territory in Northern Europe and massacring minorities whom they hate.

there are so many people that confuse Sikh people, or any brown people as Muslim in the U.S. means that there is some crossover in a lot of people's mind between "middle easterner" and "Muslim.
That could be possible, I suppose some people who have lived in remote areas and not in among people of middle eastern decent wouldn't know the difference. I had lived in a neighborhood of mostly Egyptian, Palestinian, and Lebanese individuals. Now they were Muslim and christian and typically there was a stark difference. Also I have to say these people were incredibly hospitable and have amazing food (something I love :) ) and culture. An Egyptian christian in that community would not think twice before inviting a stranger into their home and feeding them and giving them tea, they really were kind and compassionate. Muslims... not very friendly in that neighborhood. And when you see women in head to two burka walking behind a man its not to hard to tell their religion.
I have hired and known many muslim as well, I would call them moderates. I treated them as my dear friends and never with any bias. Doesn't mean I subscribe to their ideas anymore than I do Jehovah's Witnesses. I think JWs perpetuate dangerous ideas, I think the same of Islam. That is not Xenophobia. My favorite place on earth is New York City (and I am talking about the real nyc not the disneyland times square crap, im mean outer boroughs), the mixes of people and cultures make it one of the only places i would live in America. Being a xenophobe and living in NYC would be like being a homophobe and living on gay street in San Francisco lol. Doesn't really make sense.
All 3 of those religions need to be done away with because they create the same problems, to varying degrees.
I agree, but like I said earlier I don't believe every religion is created equal just as any political government is the same, some are in fact worse. Whatever hatred was fostered by the first two seems turned up a notch in the 3rd one. Commandments to beat your wife, commandments to torture, teachings of deceptions that could be compared to the way Georffery Jackson misleads others to protect the religions. Anyone ever heard of Taqiya? or how about Kitman? These are teachings of one particular religious group. Look them up.
Even if you take the terrorism element away, the core teachings of Islam are very oppressive and damaging to its members. Much like the religion many here had escaped from.

Billybobber it was more about the way it was delivered.
Can you admit that white males like yourself are far more likely to commit mass murder in this country?
If i had this discussion with an African american person and speaking statistically said to them "you are more likely to shoot me in a violent crime because your black" hey I am just talking about statistics. No that sounds incredibly distasteful. Racial statistics and the extremism idealism of any religion (Muslim or christian) are not the same thing.
Still you hear
if you disrespect Islam, that's racism and bigotry
if you are suspicious of Muslims that islamaphobia
If those things are true that would make pretty much everyone on this site a racist, bigoted jehovahphobe.
This whole site is about bashing one religion. How do we feel about full-in witnesses who support all the actions of the borganization even if they may say they disagree with some things but the desert god will sort it out? Do they bare any guilt for endorsing the ideas, policies, and governing authority of that religion? When they say no we are not permissive to pedophiles that is ludicrous, because in their cult way they say the whole organization top down as not permissive. It doesn't change that the system of ideas and beliefs is harmful.
I understand what you guys are saying, and in other posts on here I have even posted the statistics you speak of, yes home grown terrorists have killed more. But this is where they are, they are home grown. How many white chritian nut jobs have committed terrorism in the middle east? I really don't know but I am guessing not many if any at all, because they aren't there.
The shooting at the abortion clinic was an act of terrorism, for christian ideas. This nonsense needs to be worked out of our society as does ideas of any other religion that basis its belief on outdated ideas of hatred and murder.
I acknowledge the historic statistics. But, with Paris and now this, there is probably another one around the corner, whether is connected ti ISIS or not the radical ideas of jihad are spreading and are a sleeping giant of a problem we can't ignore.
