Some charismatic fellow thumping a bible and telling me about reward and punishment said so.
So my fear of dying by divine punishment and not getting the reward for the righteous is proof of god.

nope sorry i got nothing.. wouldn't it be really interesting though if somewhere there was a theist who could challenge unbelievers with facts and evidence?.

No amount of copy and paste about our DNA or common ancestor and whatever which change the fact in a relatively short period of time or milli-second in evolutionary terms can explain who one species went from cave paintings to putting a man on the moon.
You need to think deeper about time, you seem to be disconnected. Human technology advancement was pretty much a flat line until the last 200 years, and shot up incredibly in the last 70 years. We didn't go from cave painting to the moon so quickly. Also contrary to popular theist belief humans have been around much longer than 6000 years. Homo sapiens are about what? 100,000 years old? Can you even grasp the changes that go on over 100,000 years of homo sapiens much less the staggering 4.5 billion years of earth itself????
you have made my head hurt...
is it just me?
Some people can take a condescending tone, at times.
Trying not to offend theists like...
is it just me?
- The Earth Orbits the Sun Thanks to Gravity is a Fact
- The Earth is an Oblate Spheroid is a Fact
then would you be quite so offended?
- Our Vision Can Only Detect a Small Part of the Electro-magnetic Spectrum is a Fact
is it just me?

Evolution doesn’t explain an orderly universe with suitable physical laws, A fine-tuned universe, including initial conditions and physical parameters necessary for carbon-based life, a suitable planet, such as Earth, orbiting a suitable star and capable of supporting life and the existence of life in the first place. It also doesn’t explain the self-awareness of man and how one creature seems to have domain over this planet.
oh my. I don't know where to start with this. I think you have listened to one too many Sunday talks. How do you define "fine tuned"?? Do you know the earth has literally destroyed itself in 5 mass extinctions? It was not fine tuned, it was a mess and still is in ways. it wasn't created for people, we've been here in a fraction of the last second of its existence.
Lets take probably the biggest one, some 251 million years ago when 96% of earths species were lost.
Known as “the great dying”, this was by far the worst extinction event ever seen; it nearly ended life on Earth. The tabulate corals were lost in this period – today’s corals are an entirely different group. What caused it? A perfect storm of natural catastrophes. A cataclysmic eruption near Siberia blasted CO2 into the atmosphere. Methanogenic bacteria responded by belching out methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Global temperatures surged while oceans acidified and stagnated, belching poisonous hydrogen sulfide. “It set life back 300 million years,” says Schmidt. Rocks after this period record no coral reefs or coal deposits.
Doesn't sound like fine tuning to me.
Galaxies collide, asteroids plow into planets, how is that fine tuned?
Also earth is special but not as special as the watchtower is telling you. There are many more planets in habitable "Goldilocks" zones than we ever knew in the past.
is it just me?
You comparing presenting science based evidence to "proselytizing" is utterly ridiculous.
And cofty is right
Evolution is not synonymous with atheism. Many intelligent believers accept the fact of evolution.
So often it seems evolution is implied synonymous with atheism and then both are presented as some sort of "religion". The problem is when you don't take of the God/religoous glasses everything appears a certain way.
hi one and all.. i've lurked for 3 years, about time i signed up.. i'm a still in ms due to family.. fully awake.. i look forward to getting to know all of you..
i've always found it amazing that people can say with such conviction that jehovah is their friend.. we are talking about a "friend" who perhaps daily "tests" us to see if we are his friends.
all of us have dealt with some form of hardship such as the death of a loved one, chronic illness or whatever.
it is in these cases that the brothers will tell a person that perhaps it is a test, or that "jehovah knows you're not ready" or some other lame excuse.. do our real friends "test" us to see if we will be loyal to them?
How many friends do you have that would watch you do this
so, i know there are some from my congregation or from bethel who monitor my posts..... maybe you're looking for something to catch me out?.
just a question: rather than trying to find fault with me, have you stopped and looked into the issues or facts about the organisation that caused me to come to a place like this forum??.
facts are there for anyone to find nowadays....one just has to be willing to pull their head out of the sand.....
Suffering from an org doesn't necessarily delete it's validity
You are a victim of the worst kind of brainwashing. Any organization can have good or bad effects. Even groups we find appalling and dangerous have turned people around from "bad" things. All that being said none of this has to do with validity either. What makes jws valid? If you were a Mormon you'd be saying the same thing. Or a branch dividian. Or a nazi. Or a radical Muslim. What makes your beliefs so valid????
