Reminder about language and content

while the vast majority of posts that the majority of posters share are perfectly fine (which we appreciate) i've noticed we have a few cases where bad language, crude innuendo and outright misogyny is creeping in.. this is not acceptable.. we're not certainly not prudish and neither are we going to enforce puritanical rules - sometimes a politically incorrect joke is funny as hell and sometimes strong language is justified.

but often times content is completely out of place and cannot be justified.. so, please don't post crude content or use expletives just to be "shocking".

it's childish and immature and won't be tolerated.. thank you to all the people this has nothing at all to do with..

this was a comment i made from another post, but i would like to hear some people discuss this.

i know the social justice warriors will scream i'm some sort of trump supporter for what i say even though i don't agree with his ideas and no i am not voting for him... i accept this is a go to for them.. i think we have fallen into a pc vacuum.. criticizing someones religion = racism!.

telling someone to not be so sensitive = misogyny!.

Yea I said that I would be called a Trump supporter regardless and that's what happened. Simply by suggesting that everyone is having knee jerk reactions to every word everyone says.

If you used foul language in a court of law,

I haven't tried that yet, but once when I getting questioned by lawyers for jury duty I did say I felt when I was a victim of a theft justice was not served. When asked why, I said "because I believe this is a court of law not justice"... and I was excused from having to do jury duty by the judge. I don't think he appreciated it very much

Trump is disrespectful of women. That should be obvious to anyone who's been awake for the past several months.

What does what I said have to do with trump lol!? Trump is the king of misogyny, no doubt. I'm talking about the thin skinned majority on this DB that seem so quick to make these claims about anyone not sharing their views. I'm not even talking about politics. I'm just talking about crying foul when there isn't one. The hyper PC sensitivity can actually take weight away from things like racism, rabbid attacks/bullying, misogyny, etc when you make EVERYTHING one of those things. That is my point

If someone calls me an idiot (ESPECIALLY on the internet) I promise I am not going to lose sleep over it, or even get that mad. I will probably laugh. Today I just saw some lets call it fragility, and I wonder if we try to keep fitting reality into the JW mold.

I'm not speaking about sexual/inappropriate posts, or profanity as much as everyone feeling like they can pull things that are not so bad, into the realm of things that are bad and confuse them.

For instance screaming someone is racist for criticizing religion. ANY religion.

All due respect Simon, I was not disagreeing with you as I said.. I am trying to keep the line clear between discussion and rule breaking. I feel that some can't handle not being agreed with and are putting that in the same category as the things you mentioned. I feel not everyone is talking about "swearing" and "sexual content".

If you are exposed the the truth about the witnesses and you come this far, and someone is a jerk to you and that sends you back to the religion, you weren't really awake.

After all, they are told constantly that "apostates" are obsessed with arguing, lying, misleading, being rude, etc. If we can be nothing but the exact opposite of what the WT says we are on here, we are doing good.
