  turkey and now berlin, the abrahamic mind virus strikes again... actually there is no confirmation the truck attack was islam, but... it's probably islam.

  at least in europe, they call terrorist attacks just that, unlike here in america, we have become so crazy we have clear terrorist attacks, some over a year old now that they still question the motive ala san bernadino.. religion .

  Scientology special on A&E tonight with Leah Remini

  i'm not sure where it is airing elsewhere, but on the a&e channel, at 7p then again at 10p est tonight, leah remini is doing a scientology special.

  it looks to be a great show.

  i am not sure if it is one time, or the beginnings of a series.

  It was very good, the similarities to JWS are jaw dropping, even thought the Scientologists make better TV due to a handful of high-profile celebrities, and a more aggressive apostate programs with things like the RPF.

  first time posting after years of reading, the things i have learned here have gradually helped to open my eyes to the reality of this religion.

  though i have been mentally out for some time, lately i have stopped going to meetings and service.

  the elders are calling and i have been ignoring them, i am trying to get up the courage to finally break free and never go back.

  i have a beard.

  i spend a month on vacation with no worry from the congregation overseas of course.

  i grew a full beard now and with glasses i finally have posted my picture on facebook og me... next to half life 2 cover showing i look like gordan freeman lol.

  in my area i'd guess 30% of the men maybe more have some kind of beard.

  The beard issue amongst JWS arose from the Rutherford era. As an opposition to the Russell era diehards. I was always told growing up it was because of the 60's counter culture, but now beards are not counter culture, but rather very common and respectable. Truth is it wasn't the 60's it started before that.

  If I'm not mistaken, its a technicality that as a non profit (I forget the designation 501 or 503 religion) they can't tell you you can't vote. Thus the 99' conscience matter. But like most things witness what the carefully write out in print and what is practiced are two different things many times.
