To me, the most powerful similarities are the subtle ones. Like members are generally well intentioned and want the best for mankind, and feel it's up to them and their group. That there are some good things gained by being in (the cult). Especially early on. It's the way they keep themselves in that makes the biggest case. Often the impression of a cult member is a suicidal anti-social zombie, but Leah has shown that many like herself were sincere, not looking to perpetuate the negative aspects of cult life. I think this makes it more palatable as similar.

Rank & File Reaction to Leah Remini Series
by freemindfade inwife and i have watched the whole series and just finished episode 7 last night.
personally, i am seeing a great deal more subtle and day to day similarities to watchtower than the obvious ones i already knew existed, ie shunning.
very eye opening and heartbreaking, even more so than going clear in my mind.

Has anyone experienced any first-hand reaction from active ("in") witnesses who are watching or aware of the series? Do they deny similarities? Do they acknowledge but deflect that it changes anything about "The Truth"? Or do they become Scientology apologists in order to avoid CD? What have you seen or heard? I am very curious.

A Believer, using your randomly googled link strategy try to explain to me how the Sumerian story of the same flood (footnote/spoiler, bible plagiarized the flood story from the Epic of Gilgamesh) was recorded before what would be the actual date of the biblical flood?
let me guess... historians are wrong?

Besides there are more civilizations that invalidate the flood besides just Egypt, which despite your fundie bible thumper links, still does a pretty damn good job

More crap, you only reference people using eisegesis and not exegesis.
Accepting traditional Egyptian chronology necessitates rejection of biblical truth. Accepting biblical chronology allows a reconstruction of ancient chronology on a foundation of truth. Viewing the evidence from a biblical framework makes the histories of Egypt and the Old Testament fit together like two sides of a zipper.

Dude that link is rubbish, the flood didn't predate the pyramids because they weren't damaged? that is not proof lmao. That whole blurb was complete and utter nonsense, did you even read it? or just find a random link online and post it? For all the cockamamy reasons I've heard apologists try to prove the flood that is by far one of the weakest. It's essentially saying it's true because...bible says so. That guy that wrote that blog is far from any kind of expert

Jehalapeno is sad...
- Hasn't read the bible aka the goat herder's guide to the galaxy
- Cavorting with known apostates
