_Morpheus I went to the store and bam. Look what happened. Viv and cofty came full in to save us lol
What page are we up to now? I saw something about unicorns. What did I miss lol
i have not meet all atheists, and it would be foolish for me to assume that all atheists, share the same prototypical view points.
i am inclined to feel that this classifies the views of a large percentage of atheists.
"atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.

Atheism is not unscientific nor is it scientific. It is lack of belief
now that I like. Why couldn't you have said that the fist comment after the op!! Lol. We could have avoided all this.
The OP is crap for insinuating
Atheism = Science!

let me derail this thing a little more since nobody is answering Cofty,
Atheism is not tantamount to science, brilliant observation in the OP, as we have seen, its just a label used to define. with that out of the way...
which have had a greater impact on the progress of science? Atheist? or Theists? Which have done more to inhibit science?
Now some of the early scientists/thinkers who suggested things like the sun being at the center, not the earth, and the universe being much grander, and who were also persecuted by the church as heretics, were theists. But overall...

If no one had every made up a myth or a YHWH or whatever we would all be agnostic, that is their could be things beyond us unknown.
This fact has made "agnostic" mean more than one thing, would you not agree? Quite literally maybe it has one single definition, but it means different things to different people. In the purist meaning we all have to be. But outside of that, many "agnostics" believe there is something out there, its just undefined, they still slide into a belief they want to hold onto that is unfounded, and simply unknown.
Its a never ending circle jerk, why? because its worth debating? nope, because religion is such crazy notion it turns it into a hot mess to even discuss

I'll say it again,
Atheism (which honestly atheists wouldn't have to call themselves but I believe the name had to be made for religious folks primitive minds to understand we don't buy their bullshit god) is the lack of belief in a god(s), not a CLAIM they don't exist. I feel comfortable saying YHWH most certainly does not seem to exist. As for some undefined god, or just things we don't understand yet, no one can know.
Maybe we are a computer program, maybe we were engineered by another alien race, or maybe we are a dream... i could make a list a mile long, none of it is founded in anything.
At the end of the OP he says "Until this Hypothesis is Disproven, classifying yourself as an "Atheist" is Un-Scientific."
Well i agree... I think atheism is not scientific, its making up a word to tell religiots that we don't believe in their god, so atheism is born from theology so they can define us, not define ourselves.
Muslim? Im an Allah atheist
JW? I'm a jehovah atheist
_Morpheus? I'm a Thor atheist... although the ice giants new light was very compelling!
I blame religion and bigoted morons for there even needing to be a word "Atheist". We are all born "atheist" until someone pumps bullshit into our heads. Should I have to make a list of all the gods I don't believe in? Or be like science and concentrate on defining our reality throw knowledge and not blinding superstition. Atheist, atheism, its not our word not our fault. The quagmire that comes with it is the fault of people who need to define a god they can't and those who dont believe!i have not meet all atheists, and it would be foolish for me to assume that all atheists, share the same prototypical view points.

Absolutely. But that's because its utterly ridiculous lol
i feel like I'm taking cray pills over here.
You guys spend too much time on wikipedia reading fallacy definitions, I think they serve a fantastic purpose but are abused in these atheist bashing threads.
So if I use a fallacy to mock you for believing in fairies does that make them real because i used a fallacy????
