Are There Good People Out There?
by LaurenM ineven though i'm no longer mentally a jw (i still technically am) i do recognize that there are some benefits to being raised one.
for example, the first (and only so far) wordly guy i was involved with had to smoke weed every day and got drunk all the time and that was his idea of fun.
i couldn't help but feel bad for him.

Good is a broad word and means many things to different people. Jw good is not the same as my good. There are wonderful people out there. You need to take some time and get to know people without any religious morality. Have empathy and start to see people for what they are. Find out what good really means to you. Jw religion taught you to follow a social law they established. Sure some of those things are safety measures in life. But extreme. They also taught you that if someone believes differently than you they deserve death. Take some time and learn about people and "good". Fmf -

The Org is terrified of apostates
by SecretSlaveClass ini knew apostasy was a serious concern for the org, but until i watched this video, i had no idea how afraid they actually were.
all this guy wants is to do is not turn in his fs hours and immediately they (elders) set about drilling him about who are what influenced his decision, as if he was incapable of making his own (which as the elders confirm, in the org is highly discouraged).
they are convinced he has been communicating with apostates or visiting apostate web sites.

Who Hopefully the more vocal and paranoid they get it will wake up sleepers.
I was amazed at the convention how they never mentioned it until the last talk. Then they said some really crazy shit. I think they know by acknowledging a problem to loud it will make waves and people will feel more and more the control

Dude there are other fascinating things besides this that ancient civilizations had knowledge of that are staggering.
What reason do you have to say it comes from "God"?
Why not a time travelers?
Why not aliens?
Why not that they were more advanced than we can understand, then had a set back called religion that caused ignorance to reign?
This just sounds like more Eschatology to me, barf.
I don't see anything unique in any of this.
I could write and eschatologic prophecy and people 1000 years from now would be amazed!! These things talk about human issues and nature, its a key that fits any generation.
The Vedas also gave conflicting creation stories, and attributed gods with storms and such. Changed which god was "the greatest" and so on. Sound familiar? Religion all comes form the same toilet bowl.

Won't get fooled again ...Moon Landing.
by The Rebel inso i was fooled by the witnesses.
what can i learn from that?
not to accept things at face value but to seek out opinion and different view points.. hence my question " do you believe man landed on the moon?.

Viv, touche and well played...
If you are pitching I will be merely a spectator from the dugout, relief pitcher if you will, or better yet closer, but I will let someone else be the catcher if you don't mind

Perfection? Ponder this...
by OverlappingGeneralizations inhello all- nice forum.i have been contemplating a fade for a while, and i have been reading various sites such as this one.
i have seen all kinds of things that have made me think.
but something came to mind lately, and i wanted to throw it out there-satan was cast down to the earth, and he is supposedly the cause of all imperfection.
