  been reading for about 2 and a half years, thought i would take the plunge and sign up.. my circumstances... i live in uk, serving as ms. i am fully awake.

  i can not leave due to family, so just treating the meetings as a bit of a social club.

  i would like to give out more details, but i think you all know the drill.. complete disillusionment and i suppose natural curiosity woke me up.. don't know what else to say right now, just hello, and i hope to get to know some of you guys better.

  First thoughts on "new" meeting...

  had a quick look at the workbook and flicked through the sample meeting video.. the increased use of video shows the trend for more centralised dissemination of "best practice" .

  sure there isn't really a "school" any more and the format is a bit different but i think those that called it as the same old crap just in new package got it pretty much right.

  just a total speculative thought i had.

  with branches getting cut, special pioneers getting sacked, and bethel members going byebye, is there a need for gilead still?

  (co's are probably on the block too lests be honest).. if they got rid of that i feel that would be huge.

  Wife is listening to the sample meeting in the other room. I couldn't help but here them once again misapplying the widow scripture. And twisting it to GIVE US YOUR MONENY! Even having the comment given by a very small child.

  For those who don't know, this scripture Jesus was highlighting the pigish greed of God's chosen religion of that time. Sound familiar? Not that even a broke widow donated. It wasn't a beautiful illustration it was a sad observation about religion and money. Beyond that mega church hustlers who have come out so to speak and admitted the things they did to screw people admitted using and misapplying this scripture.
