Village idiot. These guys aren't going anywhere. I'm sorry but they aren't. The fact they merely exist means little. What is your point??? Religions is full of dangerous bad ideas can you admit one might be more dangerous than another? -

I'm sure plenty here have read the bible, or major parts of it. How many are as familiar with the quran?
I'd have to say if there was a hate scale the Quran would be worse than the bible. And when taken as literal is more encouraging of proactive murder of unbelievers etc. And again the leadership pushes the ideology and Islam radicals are the leadership, can anyone tell me different?

Also not sure what history repeating itself has to do with the danger of islamic ideas?
A religion is only as good as its leadership
JW has the gb
Catholics have the pope
Islam has Extremists for leadership
Now you tell me how to fix that? Many world religions have softened with the leadership. The leadership of Islam is NOT the moderates. The leadership still promotes ideas that are harmful to women, homosexuals, unbelievers, and apostates. Like physically harmful.

What if history repeating itself us Islam torturing and killing in the name of God. History repeating itself does have to be the same religion. Islam is repeating the past mistakes of Christianity if you will. But when they were burning heritics and killing unbelievers most people were illiterate and it was totally the people doing it. Now most can read the bible and decide for themselves jesus didn't tell his followers to behead infidels as Mohammed did.
Can someone tell me is it possible for one book or one religion to be more inflammatory or dangerously interpreted than the other? Or are they exactly the same?

Sorry village idiot. These people you speak of are amateurs compared to Islam.
Let me sound like a broken record. The central influence and theocracy of Christianity is not good but pretty benign. The nuts are on the fringe.
Islam is the opposite. The central influence is the nuts and the moderates are the powerless fringe that had no influence on the actual religion. Does anyone else understand this at all????
Christianity is on clear decline regardless of some inbred wackos. Islam is growing. If you will believe absurdities you can be used to commit atrocities.

It's less about equal rights. freedom to practice and freedom to criticize are not the same. People are making a huge outcry for simply criticizing a belief system. That is powerful. That's what keeps jws in business the fear of critics.
And all the using radical islam to achieve political goals... maybe.. although those acting out right now are being dragged through the mud for it, so I am not so sure that is true. In america it seems pretty scandalous right now to be anti islam. And outside the political realm, what about America's own allies l like Saudi Arabia? They aren't jihadists, but you know what? hey still subscribe to sharia law, that means honor killings and many other horrific things, also they send shitloads of money to the Jihadist... proxyextremism. That you don't hear about because its allies. The religion is the state, the state is the religion and the religion is bad for human rights.

Village idiot without speaking too much for cappy most of us are anti religion in general. So yea, why not have a John Lennon imagine scenario. I think this world would be way better off without religions.
That being said. Islam seems to be the most vile right now. I know passive moderate Muslims. That doesn't make me ignore the message of the religion. Anyone who has compared the ugly stories of the bible and Quran can see they come across different. Quran is way more open ended. Ie do this. And the anger with Islam doesn't stop just at the jihad maniacs. There are loads of other problems.

I do believe all religions are BS
I don't believe all religions are created equal
I won't stick up for anyone's religion, I wouldn't do it for JWS, I wont for Islam. I will only be honest about the results of each

whether or not you have religion or not, good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things. But to have "good" people do bad things, that takes religion.
The message of a religion is important as its followers are already conditioned to believe nonsensical fantasies. The message of Islam itself is not peaceful in anyway, so you have devout people following the book and prophet they revere. The book and the prophet are both despicable.
When the extremists (religious theocratic core) of Islam want to dip into the pool, they are dipping into the 1.6 million or so moderates. In other world religions people are generally not threatened with death (honor killing) for leaving, this seems to be allowing those to grow up as a religion or out of it, losing the fantasy. So in general the only world religion not growing up and out of this nonsense of the past is Islam. Its just growing.

Stop the war
by Diogenesister inhttp://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=d9bk76nb6bk please watch this link to a really great american video which features a touching clip of a dad trying to treasure & explain things to his son as they are both caught up in the paris attacks.
it starts with an interview with a muslim victim of the attacks and ends with wise words on the effects of war on kids everywhere , including american sanctioned drone strikes in syria.
its about 10 mins long..

It's not organizations that are the problem, it's the belief in superstition which provides the means for those seeking to manipulate others that is the problem, be it Islam, Christianity or African ancestral worship
My man speaking truth right there. I think the biggest step no one is willing to take is to call these ideas bad. Somehow we have twisted being able to criticize a religion with peoples right to practice it. So like jws who's greatest phobia us anyone criticizing the holy gb, this world is way too sensation to religious ideas that are harmful. Think about how Obama won't say "Islam extremism" just "violent extremism". That is burying your head in the sand. Protecting the very root of the evil.
Everything someone gives the religion itself a pass, as is happening in our time with islam, reform will never take place. The leaders and theocratic examples drive the problem, blowing their followers to kingdom come may give a sense of retaliatory justice I'll admit, but isn't stopping the river of hate from flowing from its source. Hold the religion accountable, don't let them squirm out with complaints of them being victimized.
